Virgil & Millie Hansen
Virgil was a teacher in Faulkton School for a long time. He taught many of his own family members in his various classes of business, typing and administrative duties. Virgil lost his leg in a hunting accident when he was a young man. He was so adept using his crutches that one would think it was a natural for him. He did not take any "lip" from students and demonstrated it when necessary. He and his wife Mildred continue to live in Orient, So. Dak. As of 2006, Virgil has been retired for 18 years. He remains active and with his wife have a project of securing the school records of Orient, So. Dak. Many schools in the area are closing and records of their existence are disappearing with them. "Now I'm hoping to track down issues of the school newspaper. The weekly school newspaper would give a better day to day history of the school." Virgil and Millie have 3 children; Richard, Marlys & William Virgil has a 4-wheeler that he uses to get around Orient these days. He has lived there all his life and remains ambitious to do more.
