Notes on the Reverend Samuel Gilbert Spurr and Esther Chute Spurr:

WEC: "Moved to Wakefield, Carleton County, New Brunswick, where their family was raised. In 1853, they had a splendid visit among kindred and friends in Ontario."

This may be a geographical error - they also may have moved to Wakefield in Quebec Province.

"Michael Spurr [father of Samuel Gilbert Spurr] came to Annapolis, Nova Scotia, in the ship "Charming Molly" with his wife Ann Bird and family. This immigrant was probably a "Royalist" or "Tory". He purchased a tract of land and settled at "Round Hill". He was descended from ancestors resident in Dorchester, Mass., and one of them was captain in command of a Colonial Regiment that fought at Port Royal in 1707, his company being the first to land on the Granville shore at a locality known as "Weatherspoon Point", but known as "Spurrs Point" from the circumstances of this landing to 1770, hence the local name has been known for 50 years before the arrival of the pioneers."
