W.P. SUMMONS guardian for M.E. SUMMONS & others - petition to assign decree
In this cause it is ordered by the Court that publication be made by the clerk in the weekly Republican Banner a newspaper printed at Nashville Tenn for 8 successive weeks notifying Valentine SUMMONS & Martha A. SUMMONS wards of petitioner that he will apply to the County Court for Robertson County by TN at its September term 1858 to accept his resignation as guardian for said wards.
It is ordered by the Court that Carroll HUEY oversee the road leading from Springfield to Franklin to work said road from Daniel HOLLAND's to the ford of Red River and that he with the following hands, to wit, G.E. DRAUGHON & hands, C. HUEY's hands E.M. DUNN, J.J. BLOODWORTH, L. WILLIS & hands, John STRICKLIN, S.D. JAMESON, A. CHAPMAN, Jo C. BARBEE, Bowling GORDON, W. GORDON, T. TRAUGHBER, R. CLAYTON, Tyler EDWARDS' hands W. EDWARDS, Thos. GUNN, Sam HARRIS & B. STARK keep the same in repair according to law 2nd class road.
It is ordered by the Court that D.M. JACKSON oversee the road leading from Adamsville to Port Royal to work said road from Sturgeon Creek to Holloway's Spring and that he with the following hands, to wit, john BELL's hands, William ADAMS & hands, Albert BURGESS, James BURGESS, Reuben ADAMS hands, Williamson TRAVIS, John CHILTON, James SPEER, John PRIDE, T.R. WELLS, H. WELLS & Robert SONY keep the same in repair according to law 2 class road.
It is ordered by the Court that J.G. HOLLOWAY oversee the road leading from Russelville to Port Royal to work said road from Holloway's Springs to the Montgomery line and that he with the following hands, to wit, R. OGG, G. WILLIAMS & hands, T.J. ADAMS & hands, James YODA, Susan A. TOLLISON's hands, William NEWTON, J.C. DUNN's hands, Willie TURNER, H.H. ORNDORFF's hands, J.M. FORT's hands & Jo TURNER keep the same in repair according to law.
It is ordered by the Court that James C. MOSS oversee the road leading from Cross Plains to Whitehill to work from A. JONES to White Hill & that he with the following hands, to wit, D. McCORLEY, W. Letters of administration are granted to Ephraim FARTHING on the estate of Elizabeth WALTON deceased. He and his securities James WOODARD and John J. POPE executed and acknowledged bond in open Court in the sum of one thousand dollars, conditioned as the law directs and he qualified according to law.
Haynie WATKINS vs James WATKINS & others - It is ordered by the Court in this cause that R.H. MURPHY Special Commissioner distribute the fund arising from the sale of the negro mentioned in the pleadings amongst and between those entitled thereto according to law.
Information having been made to the Court by James T. GUNN that his father, Thomas GUNN Sr., who resides within the County of Robertson is from Extreme old age and imbecility of mind wholly incapacitated to attend to his business affairs or to make contracts of any sort with advantage to himself or others - It is therefore ordered by the Court that the Sheriff of Robertson County summon a jury of twelve free holders to ascertain by inquisition the idiocy or lunacy of the said Thomas GUNN Sr. and also to ascertain the amount and value of his estate, real and personal; and the names and ages of his wife and children and that they report to the present term of the Court. The undersigned freeholders of Robertson County, having been summoned and duly sworn, as a jury to inquire into the mental condition of Thomas GUNN Sr. after diligently investigating the matter do find that the said Thomas GUNN Sr. is a lunatic from extremee old age and imbecility of mind; and utterly incapable of managing his own affairs with safety to himself and others; We also find that he has a wife, Mrs. Frances GUNN aged about 60 years or upwards and the following named children, to wit, Martha BELL aged about 65 years; Nancy GUNN aged about 58 years; Priscilla GARDNER aged about 56 years; James T. GUNN aged about 54 years; Mary BAILEY age about 44 years; Phoebe RAMEY aged about 32 years; Caroline GUNN aged about 30 years; and Harriet HENRY aged about 28 years; - They also find that he has about two acres of land the rent of which is worth about $200 per annum and the following slaves Jo, Abram, Dave, Jacob, Jack, Daniel, Jimmen, and Green, John, Elisha and Simps boys, Polly, Bet, Tilda, Celia, Young Bit, Hannah, Eda, Anna and Milly women and girls, twenty in number; and that the hire of said 20 Negroes is worth $1500.00 per annum, corn and tobacco worth at this time $1000.00 - stock of every description, money on hand, cash notes and the household and kitchen furniture of every description, all of which is respectfully submitted, this January the 3rd, 1859.

James W. HERNDON et al vs F.M. WALTON et al - To Sell Land Decree
This day this cause came on to be heard upon the report of Ephraim FARTHING Special Comm. appointed by a former decree in this cause to sell the land in the pleadings mentioned which report is in the following words and figures, to Wit,
In pursuance of a decree of your worshipful body rendered at its February term 1859 in the cause James W. HERNDON & wife et al vs Dr. F.M. WALTON et al appointing me Special Commissioner to sell the 2 tracts of dower land of Elizabeth WALTON dec'd, widow of David J. WALTON dec'd said land belonging to the heirs of said David J., I did on the said premises on the 10th day of March 1859 sell publicly to the highest bidder on a credit of one and 2 years the 2 tracts of land aforesaid both living in the 3rd Civil District of Robertson County Tennessee the one tract containing Survey 95 & 156/160 poles and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning on a stake about 6 feet South of a black oak marked J.E. BELL's line runs East 15 poles to a small black gum BELL's corner thence East passing BELL's stone corner at 11 1/3 poles in all 86 2/3 poles to a stake FLOOD's corner thence North passing FLOOD's & HOLMAN's corner at 34 2/3 poles in all 130 poles to a stake and pointers HOLMAN's corner thence North 34 poles to a stake now G.W. WALTON's corner in HOLMAN's line thence S. 85 1/2 W 84 poles to a Sassafras now in WOODARD's line thence South 132 poles to the beginning and the other tract containing by survey 11 & 15/160 acres and bounded as follows, to Wit, beginning on a post oak FARTHING's corner runs S 1 W 35 2/3 poles to a stake and pointers toward Southward

WALTON's SE corner thence N 1 East 35 1/3 poles to a stake and pointers in FARTHING's line thence N 89 1/2 East 50 poles to the beginning whereas G.W. WALTON became the purchaser of said 2 tracts of land containing survey 107 & "/160 acres at $35.00 per acre making in all the sum of $3747.47 that being the hightest last and best bid therefore he paid me cash $125.00 and executed his 2 notes due 1 & 2 years from date payable to me as Special Commissioner for $1811.20 each with Joel E. BELL & Wilson A. WILLIS his securities thereto I opened the biddings for said land at $25.00 per acre and retained a lien thereas until the purchase money is paid & duly advertising said sale according to law a copy of which advertisement to herewith filed I have paid J.E. GARNER $50.00 that being the sum which the Clerk of this Court reports to be due him as an attorney in this cause and I have also paid J.C. STARK $15.00 that sum the Clerk reporting to be due him for services as an attorney in filing answer for the minors in this cause as their Guardian ad litem taking their receipts therefore. All of which is respectfully submitted March 22, 1859.

Which report being unexcepted to is in all things confirmed and it is ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that the title to the 2 tracts of land therein named be ___ of petitioners & defendants and vested in Petitioner G. WALTON the purchaser thereof his heirs and assigns forever retaining a lien thereon for the payment of the purchase money and that the remaining unpaid costs of this cause remain in Court for such further orders as may be necessary or advisable relative to the collection and distribution of the purchase money also that a copy of this decree be furnished for registration is desired.

Y.B. MATHEWS guardian for Henry Clay WILKS - petition to resign
In this cause it appearing that petitioner's ward has been duly notified of the application it is therefore ordered by the Court that petitine's resignation as siad guardian be accepted to take effect from and after this date. It appearing to the Court that his successor may this day regularly qualified, and that petitioner pay the cost of this cause.
James Y. CRAIG treasurer of the poor house of Robertson County for the year 1860 executed his bond of said treasurer with sum of one thousand dollars and he and his security William KEYES and E.K. GILLIAN acknowledged said bond in open Court.
J.C. HOLMAN tendered to the Court in writing his resignation as Constable of the 4th Civil District of Robertson County to take effect from this day which was by the Court accepted.
David S. ALLSBROOK came into open Court and tendered his resignation as Constable of the 13th District of Robertson County to take effect from and after the 1st day of March 1860 which was by the Court accepted.
W.W. GORDON came into open Court and tendered to the court by resignation as Constable of the 3rd Civil District of Robertson County to take effect on the 1st day of March 1860 which was by the Court accepted.
Upon the petition of Thos. WOODARD Jr. & James BROWNING representing that they ___ the line between the 9th & 10 districts so changed as to include them in the 9th district. It is ordered by the Court that said line be allowed as prayed for and that they be taken into the 9th district as prayed for and W.H. COUTS having filed his petition praying to be allowed to be attached to the 9th civil district it is therefore ordered by the court that the line of the 10th district be so chanbged that the said W.H. COUTS be included in the 9th district as prayed for.
