and
RESEARCH NOTES OF JANET HASELEY - Oct 2001
On maps of the 1866 Beers atlas, property owners were shown with surnames and one or two initials. Using the resources at the Rensselaerville Historic Society, Janet Haseley did extensive research to determine who
many of these people were. The names that she found have been placed in square brackets [ ] below. Even though a middle initial may have been given on the map, she may or may not have found it in the records. In
almost all cases, the name in brackets is what she found in the records.
When Janet added names to Barbara Bolster-Barrett's transcription, her notes were longer than would fit on the property owners list that was made for the 1866 map. Therefore, the notes are provided here for your research. The notes include such additional information as spouses, relatives and occupations as well as the sources for the information.
