He married his first wife (name not known) about 1910, a baby was born Evelyn Jane on the 01 Aug 1911, probably their child. The baby did not survive. When he joined the army during World War I, his marriage broke up, and after the war he was divorced. His wife remarried but this soon failed as her second husband used to assault her, after this Arthur maintained her financially for the rest of her life. Arthur worked as a skilled Blacksmith and was reputed to be one of the best Blacksmiths in Wolverhampton, so much so that after retirement age he was given a job by Britool, aged 66. He continued working there until the company made him retire at the age of 84 yr's, it is believed that only after being involved in a accident when he and his wife were knocked down by a car that his life was somewhat shortened and he died at the age of 92.

36. Henry Clulow (Joseph8, Thomas1) was born on 13 Mar 1896 in 46 Johnson Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and died in Nov 1947, aged 51.Dennis married Doris.
General Notes: Having left school at 14 yr's of age, and finding it difficult in finding permanent work Harry enlisted into the army joining the 2nd South Staffordshire Regiment in 1912. When the Great War started in 1914 he with thousands of other troops were transported to Europe, in particular Belgium. There they were engaged in a bloody battle in a town called Mons. There were two major battles one in 1914 the other in 1915.
After this the troops were evacuated back to England.
When the troops had been rested they were supposed to be sent to India to relieve troops out there who would be sent home to join up with forces in Europe. Instead of this they were loaded aboard ship and transported to the Middle East, and became part of the Gallipoli landing.
It was there that the Anzac combined forces were massacred by the Turks.
After being pinned down in the trenches for many weeks, not making any progress against the enemy the expedition was abandoned and the troops withdrawn. They were repatriated across the Mediterranean sea to Egypt and then bought back to England.
Harry had suffered terribly while in the trenches and was suffering with frostbite. Also following this deprivation and illness that followed Harry was diagnosed as having a severe case of tuberculosis. Shortly after this he was discharged from the army as unfit for any other service.
Harry died in November 1947 after a long illness. He was survived by his wife Mary who lived until 1983.
