From The Ipswich Journal, Saturday, August 21, 1869

PETTY SESSIONS REPORTS - SAMFORD
COUNTY HALL TUESDAY, August 17 - Before J. P. COBBOLD, Esq., (chairman), and C. SCHREIBER, Esq.

"Charge of Drunkenness - Thomas WINNEY, Henry TILBURY, and Samuel AGGIS, labourers, were charged with being drunk at East Bergholt, on Thursday last. It appears that on the day in question, defendants were coming home from a fair quite drunk. They made a disturbance in the street, and WINNEY rang a bell. A witness was called for the defence, who swore that defendants were not drunk or making a disturbance. The case was dismissed.
The prisoners were then charged with breaking a window at East Bergholt, on the same day. This case was also dismissed."
