Welcome to my Turner Family Web Site. Many hours have been put into the preparation, research and documentation of these records.
William George Turner and his wife, Margaret Kemp and their children (Robert Kemp Turner b.1784, William George Turner b. 1786; their 3rd child, Anne Turner was born 1791 in Halifax), came to Cole Harbour, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, about 1790, from the Keith, Banffshire, area of Scotland. Today many of their descendants still live in and around the area of Cole Harbour, with other descendants living in Atlantic Canada, throughout Canada and the United States.
Included with William and Margaret Turner's information is Elspet Turner (b. 1756), sister to William George Turner, also immigrated along with William and Margaret Turner and their family. Elspet Turner married Alexander Bremner in Halifax, Nova Scotia before returning with her husband to Keth, Banffshire, Scotland. Their son, Alexander Bremner, who was born in Halifax, married Elizabeth Grant of Scotland. Two of their four children eventually returned to Nova Scotia, where their ancestors flourish today.
As with all such undertakings, accuracy is tried to be maintained, but errors and mistakes do happen. If at anytime you discover a mistake, omission, or anything you believe to be an error, please e-mail me. I would very much appreciate all the help I can get.
This Turner Family is an ongoing project, and over the next while will be changing continually, with the addition of pictures, hopefully new descendants, and new designs. Please check from time-to-time for new additions.
