Driscoll of Cork
Roll Call: Charles Mclaughlin

My grandmother was Margarita Driscoll daughter of Dan O'Driscoll of Camus in Co. Cork. Born in 1881 she married John Kingston in 1907 and went to live in Lisselane a farm just outside Ballinascarthy.

I remember at an early age being taken to see one of my mother's aunts an O'Driscoll by birth in Timoleague and presumably a sister of my grandmother. That was in the 1960's so she must have been younger than my grandmother who died in 1946. I believe that the other sister also married and went to live in Timoleague. The brother emigrated to London where he pursued a career in the English Civil service choosing to remain there after the troubles in 1921. It is rumoured that for a period he was a work colleague of Michael Collins!
