My earliest Driskell grandfather that we have documentation on is Samuel Davis Driskell who was born 10 DEC 1799 at Rockingham Co., North Carolina. We think that his father was Moses Driskell b. abt 1770 Worchester Co., Maryland and that his mother was Margaret Joynes b. abt 1770 maybe Virginia. (we know that they married) I do know that a Moses (Driskell/Driskel/Drescall/Drishall/Driskal) was in Rockingham Co., NC by the 1800 census and had a wife and one male child under 10 years old. And was there through more census and church records.
I think there is a good possibility that Moses's parents were William B. Driskell, Jr.and Rosanna Christopher and that William B.'s parents were Moses James Driskell, Sr. and Katherine O. Elgate and Moses James's parents were Dennis Driskell, Sr. and Hannah Holden and Dennis's father was William Driskell and William's father was Florence - who emigrated to Maryland about 1660.
