Mrs. Serena KENDALL of John Avenue, Long Beach, Calif. [sent] cash to renew for the Examiner. Mrs. KENDALL’s husband was Emmett KENDALL. They formerly lived near Chambersville many years ago, where Mr. KENDALL passed away.

Mesdames C. K. PETERS and Linnie BLALOCK came over the attend the funeral of Ann WILSON, 11 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul K. WILSON last Thursday. They were accompanied by Joe PETERS. Paul WILSON’s parents now deceased and Mesdames BLALOCK and PETERS were long times friends and neighbors here in McKinney many years ago.

S. N. LONSFORD of the Coca Cola Bottling Works has been at Atlanta, GA. Attending a National convention of production managers of the company.

Mr. and Mrs. W. J. RATCLIFF and son, Curtis, of Royse City, Route 1 were here Thursday and renewed subscription. Curtis is a student in Wesley College at Greenville. These good people are long time friends of our paper in Southeast Collin.

C. W. FOUCHE, of Plano, was in the city looking after his campaign for commissioner, District No. 4.

Charlie SNIDER of the Lucas community was here Saturday and gave us a call.

Visit from Verona Friend. Mrs. J. H. TAYLOR was in our office Saturday. She...came in to leave the Verona items as she is our reporter there. She is taking care of her aged father, N. B. BAKER, who will be 73 years old in September. Mrs. TAYLOR has taken care of him ever since she was 11 years of age as his wife, Mrs. Betty (TOWNSEND) BAKER died in 1909. Mrs. TAYLOR and her husband have been married 19 years and Mrs. BAKER has tenderly taken care of him since Mr. BAKER is the brother-in-law of the late Tom and Babe TOWNSEND. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. TAYLOR own a dandy little farm in the Verona community are the parents of three fine children two boys and one girl. Their son, Lester married last Friday night, Feb. 28. Their other boy, John Hindon is going to high school at Farmersville. Mr. BAKER is looking forward to the old age pension.

B. C. GOODWIN, of Princeton, Route 1, is another good farmer to renew for Examiner.

W. H. YEARY, long time citizen of Farmersville, was transacting business in McKinney Monday.

Roy ANDERSON, of Denison was here Sunday to attend the funeral of his long time beloved friend, Eld. R. C. HORN.

Mrs. M. W. JOHNSON of the Valdasta community was shopping in McKinney Friday. Mr. JOHNSON reads a great deal as he is unable to get about owing to having been confined to his bed for the past five years.

The Collin County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations will hold an important meeting Saturday, March 14. Mrs. J. D. BURT of Farmersville is the President and will preside. The program will be opened by singing and invocation by Dr. Clifford S. WEAVER, Pastor of the First Christian Church. A. Hardy EUBANKS, prominent McKinney banker and civic leader will give the address of welcome, while Prof. N. O. WRIGHT, Superintendent of the Farmersville Public Schools will give the response. Two local talented young artists will be featured. Hugh KIRKPATRICK, Jr. in a violin solo, and Mrs. Sue McCOY who will give an accordion solo.

Professor Jack R. RYAN, Superintendent of McKinney Public Schools and one of the outstanding educators and school executives of the State was honored with the presidency of the North Texas Division of the Texas State Teachers Association in Fort Worth, Saturday.

H. S. WARE of McKinney [has been named] Chairman of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. C. C. MAYNARD and son, Clarence, residing west of town were in McKinney Saturday.

Jerry LEWIS, residing on Pearson Avenue is a bran [sic] new reader of the Examiner.

J. A. SMITH is able to be up again after about two weeks illness with the flu. Mr. SMITH’s mother has also been ill with pneumonia, but is now improved and able to be up.

W. C. RUTLEDGE who has been confined to his home with pneumonia, is improving.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde CUNNINGHAM drove up to Altus, Oklahoma one day recently to spend a day with Mr. and Mrs. T. Ben WILLIAMS. They [enjoy]... the news from their old home as served up by Miss Agnes COMER, our faithful reporter. Mr. WILLIAMS lived at Weston a number of years where he taught school and was cashier of the Weston State Bank.

Our community was greatly shocked and saddened at the death of J. Eldred MORGAN, Sr., local business man who died at the McKinney City hospital, Monday morning about 2 a.m.

I. M. LOGAN, recognized as one of the best farmers in this community, says he will not plant his corn until around March 15.

Dr. R. N. WALKER visited his brother, W. C. WALKER near Whitewright Tuesday. The brother is paralytic and has been ill for a long time.
Mrs. Ralph WILSON of Pilot Point is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charlie WILSON this week and she and Mrs. R. N. WALKER and daughter, Miss Audrey and Miss Estelle WILSON visited McKinney Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. RATLIFF and Mr. and Mrs. PACE of Valley View and Mr. and Mrs. C. D. TERRY of Sherman were guests of Mrs. B. F. GEARHART Sunday.
Mrs. Will OWNSBY was called to Wichita Falls Tuesday by the illness of her daughter, Mrs. Albert FINLEY and little son, Bobbie. Both have mumps.
Work was started on the new bungalow to be erected by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert PARRISH.
Miss Jessie PAFFORD and Miss Alta BUCHANAN were here from Commerce last weekend the former visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. K. PAFFORD, and the latter her aunt, Mrs. Monf BREWER.
Mrs. Russell KELSEY of Leonard was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Noah JONES and her mother, Mrs. J. D. HAUN, Thursday and Friday.
Bill ALLEN is doing quite an extensive junk business. He has trucks gather up junk for miles around and disposes of it in Dallas.
Mrs. Thomas GRESHAM, formerly Miss Neva CHIPMAN of this community orders the Celina Record sent to her in Dallas. Her mother, Mrs. Ed CHIPMAN.
Miss Alma Kathryn JACKSON, aged 21 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. JACKSON of Dallas, died Friday at 3 p.m. of pneumonia. She was a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. JACKSON of Celina.

Our community was saddened by the death of Mr. SPAUGH who was buried in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Misses Iva and Nannie STAMBAUGH spent last Saturday night with their sister, Mrs. Raymond TOLLESON, and family and accompanied them to Magill, Oklahoma to visit their aunt, Mrs. John WARREN who is quite ill with heart trouble.
Julia and Charlotte DARNEL attended church services at Mustang, Sunday.
Mrs. Jim MARKS had as her guests this week, Mr. and Mrs. Neal ANDREWS of Oklahoma. Mr. ANDREWS is a brother of Mrs. MARKS.
Mrs. Jim SHIELDS visited Mrs. Claque LOFTICE at Bethel last Sunday.
The home demonstration club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee McCOY Monday afternoon, where Miss DUNLAP gave a demonstration in the pruning of rose bushes.

Mrs. J. T. DARNEL visited her daughter Mrs. J. R. BRYAN, of McKinney Saturday afternoon and attended the birthday part of her granddaughter Bobbie Gene who is eight years old.

Mr. Lester TAYLOR and Miss Cami WHITT of Altoga surprised their many friends by driving to Farmersville last Friday night Feb. 28 and getting married. Lester is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. TAYLOR. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Blanch WHITT of Altoga.
Mr. and Mrs. Ruby BROCKMAN and children of Dallas, spent last Sunday with the former’s parents, Mr. and mrs. T. A. BROCKMAN and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom TAYLOR and boys of Altoga spent last Sunday with the former’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. TAYLOR and family.
Little Effie Bell MASSEY, little two month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy MASSEY lives just across the road from the Baptist Church.
Mr. Claud STRONG, J. H. TAYLOR, Leslie STROUP and John Hindon TAYLOR attended the annual F. F. A. father and son banquet.
Mrs. L. E. WHITT and children have moved into our midst.
Mr. Lannie REYNOLDS’ mother was operated on last week at the City hospital. She lives in the Snow Hill community.
Bro. JENKINS preached at the M. E. Church last Sunday.
We have two fine teachers, Prof. Weldon COWAN and Miss Edith PRESS.
Mrs. L. W. BAILEY fell last Thursday week and hurt herself badly. She is getting along nicely now but for a few days, Mrs. BAILEY suffered much.
Mr. CHUMLEY is having an 18 foot cistern dug on his place. Alvin HARBIN and J. H. TAYLOR are doing the work.
Mrs. Mollie KING and Mrs. Sybil TRAUTHAM spent Monday with Mrs. Woodrow BUTLER of Womble.
Miss Flora STROUP of Dallas, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud STROUP.
Mrs. Lester TAYLOR was honored with a shower at Blue Ridge, Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Syd SAMPLES have moved into their new home just completed in the Womble community.
Berron WORLEY is reported much improved at this writing.

Birthday Party. Mrs. J. H. TAYLOR entertained with a birthday party Thursday March 3 in honor of her daughter, Bessie, 7th birthday. Leonard HALL, baby son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. CAUDELL has had a severe case of measles the past week and probably pneumonia.
Miss Ruth GREEN accompanied Mr. and Mrs. SIDES to Terrell.
Mr. Mack SIDES and family were called to Terrell to attend the bedside of his father who is dangerously ill.
J. P. GAINES who was one of the oldest resident members of the Stony Point Baptist church, having put his membership here in 1878 passed away Tuesday, Feb, 1, 1936. He was very active considering his advanced age. He was laid to rest beside his beloved wife, who preceded him in death in 1920. He was loyal to her memory and visited her grave often.
The following ladies, Mesdames K. HALL, J. K. MORELAND, Fronie JACKSON, T. A. TAYLOR, Jerry CANTRELL, Laura MORRISON, Ethel PRICE, Charlie GRAVES, Fred BRASWELL, Jewell BALLARD, Berta DAVIS and Mrs. Ollie JOHNSON and Mrs. Martha CANTRELL gathered at the home of Mrs. John SANDIDGE last Friday afternoon and quilted.

Child Hurt When Autos Collide. Virginia Caroline, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter HOLLAND, sustained cuts about the face and head when the automobile in which she was riding with her mother and Mrs. Elmo CLOYD, collided with another. The little girl was thrown into the windshield of the CLOYD car. The driver of the other car, and Mrs. CLOYD and Mrs. HOLLAND escaped injury.

Mrs. C. M. SNIDER of the Blythe Chapel community celebrated her 15th birthday, she being sixty years old. Mrs. SNIDER was born on Feb. 29th so she really has a birthday every four years. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. CAMPBELL, neighbors and relatives of Mrs. SNIDER gave her quite a surprise with an old fashioned country supper. Mrs. CAMPBELL was assisted by her daughters, Ruth HORN and Miss Gladys. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. A. CAMPBELL and their daughter, Mrs. Ruth Horn; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. SNIDER and daughter, Miss Marjorie, all of the Blythe Chapel community; Mr. and Mrs. J. D. MORROW and daughter, Miss Serlida Mae; Mr. and Mrs. N. P. LYNGE and daughter, Miss Evelyn MORROW, all of Plano; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee HOGGE and family of Parker community; Mr. and Mrs. Jess USSERY and family and Miss Viola COX of Fort Worth; Mr. and Mrs. C. Mrs. John TAYLOR, residing on East Short Street has been seriously ill for some time. Her husband is a veteran house painter of our city. She was a daughter of the late Fox SMITH and wife, early settlers.

The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mrs. D. E. WOOD of Frisco. They will make their home at present with the bride’s mother.

Mrs. Tom LANE gave a dinner Monday honoring her mother, Mrs. W. A. SNEATHEN on her 67th birthday. The table was very attractive..
