I know his date of death (April 26, 1977), but am interested in finding out more about his birthdate, father, brothers, sisters. Am trying to trace out my family genealogy. ed note: his death certificate is on file V 77-8636. He was 82 years old according to the index.

This would have been in about 1898 - 1900. They settled for a few years in Haskell County, Texas, where all of their three children were born. ed note: On file Vol 11-454. WE Strain and Fanny Davidson 4 Nov 1899.

Ann (Clarkson) Blackstock Date:2003-01-03 Clarkson - Ezekiel C. Clarkson, born 22 January 1829 Hawkins Co., Tenn died September 28, 1899 Mc Kinney, Collin Co., TX His Obit was in the Mc Kinney Democrat (at least that is what we were told) We would like to know what Cemetery he is buried in. ed note:He is not listed in the cemetery Inscription book so he probably doesnt have a headstone. There are four cemeteries listed where Clarksons are buried. Addie, Emely, Rosie, and William are in Wilson Chapel and George Truett Clarkson is at Ridgeview. Dollie, Grace and Jay are in VanAlstyne and Mary Louise is at Milligan.

Erin Stephens Date:2003-01-01 Dunn - Raymond Lee Dunn, DOB?, death approximately Nov 1984, buried in McKinney Texas. I would like to get the burial plot number as well as his ssi hopefully. Joyce Lunsford Date:2002-12-29 RR 3 Box 1745D Nocona, Texas 78255 Cearley, Coffman, Watkins - I am trying to find out about a young man killed in a saloon in McKinney in the early 1900. This young man was shot accidently. His last name was Watkins, possibly Bill or Monroe. Any help would be appreciated. ed note: the only Monroe Watkins found in death records died in 1946, age 92

ed note: p 52 Farmersville Store Ledger Index Mattie Kitchens p 48; p 55 shows that on p 43 Mattie Kitchens in 1869 bought 10 yards calico, 20 yards drilling, 1 pair shoes and 1 shawl. p 60 Pension app -Henry Brantley - Miles W Kitchens, 68, states he knew applicant in service until May 1864.
Susan Erickson Date:2002-12-25 Carpenter, Kimzey, Crownrich, Reece, - Looking for any relatives of Belle or Dudley Reece or Reese. Their sister, Emma Ruth Rebecca Reese, married my geat grandfather, E. E. Carpenter. They lived in Collinsville and had 3 children. When Emma died, he moved to Farmersville so Emma's sister and brother could help him with the small children. Any information about the Reese family will be appreciated. ed note: Earl Eliza Carpenter d 1926, age 79. He married ___McWoodard in 1901
Gary Thompson Date:2002-12-25 -1820 Jefferson Thompson, Jeffcoat - Phoebe Temperence Jackson moved to Collin County Texas with other members of her family from Pike County, AL. Her maiden name was Jeffcoat, and she had a daughter named Harriett Jackson. Her mother was Elizabeth McAdams Jeffcoat. They moved to Collin County right after the Civil War. She was Alfred Thompson's second wife, and she and a number of other Jeffcoat family member's are buried with the Thompson's in Snow Hill. I would like information on her first husband, Daniel Jackson, who apparently was killed as a Confederate. Daniel was a soldier from Pike County, AL and I believe he was in Co. C of the 8th Alabama, but not sure. I'm really interested in any information about the Jeffcoat family in Collin County.

Flo Date:2002-12-10 -16745 Oak Knoll Dr Porter TX 77365 Wilcox - A lady in another state did some research for me and I am recipicating by looking for her grandfather George Wilcox. Live in Michigan at one time but also lived in Anna, Texas where he owned a restaurant about 1942 - she is guessing. this is what she wrote: George was to have had a restaurant there called the Dix or something like that. He also had an apiary (I think that's the correct word - he kept bees and sold honey). He developed a new way of separating the honey from the comb and patented it. Anyway, this restaurant burned during one of the times he was away. Years ago I remember seeing an article from a paper about this, but when my mother died and I inhereited all her things, I never did find the article.
B. J. Martin Date:2002-12-06 -P.O. Box 804 Volcano, HI 98785 USA Pope - My greatgrandparents, Ezell and Lenore Wynn Pope, and their children moved from Rutherford County TN to Collin County TX sometime between 1891 and 1900. The family appears in the 1900 Collins County census. I understand that Ezell died in Collin County between 1900 and 1910. Certainly, Lenore and some of children had moved to Kiowa County OK by the 1910 census. I would appreciate any obituaries or any other information confirming the death of Ezell and/or any of the children listed in that 1900 Census. I will be most happy to share any information I have on this family.
ed note: There is a listing for E Pope in the Courier 3/3/1904, 3/4/1904, and Dem 3/10/1904. Death certificate is available at the courthouse V 1-17. He died Mar 3 1904, age 63. I dont find him in the cemetery book.

Denise Chastain-Knight Date:2002-12-03 -3464 Stallings Island Rd, Martinez GA 30907 - Chastain, Dugger -David Chastain and Annie Dugger are my Great-Great-Grandparents. I'm looking for information on their parents. I know the Chastains migrated to Collin County from Indiana in the late 1800s. Don't know much about the Duggers.ed note: David and Annie married Mar 1886 V6-260
Edgar Date:2002-11-25 -2707 Carol Avenue, Yuma Az 85365 -Nance - The last trace of my great-great grandfather Wright Nance was in Collin County in 1880. He and his wife, Catherine and 6 children were listed in that census. He, along with three sons, including my grandfather, John, are listed on page 56 (query)of the Collin Chronicles, 2000-2001, Vol. XXI, and on pp. 94 and 95 of the Summer 1999 Chronicles. Wright's wife, Catherine, was living in Johnson County, TX in 1900. I would appreciate lookups in the Collin Chronicles and any information that anyone may have on the Nance's. As far as I can tell, I am not related to Dow Nance who was killed in the Lee-Peacock fued, but am not sure. Thanks. Ed Nance
Beverly Castleberry Date:2002-11-24 -po box 282 inman ks 67546 -Myers - I am specifically looking for the family of David Myers. Obit says he was a long time resident of Fitzhugh Mills which is in Collin county.But I cannot find any more information on Fitzhugh Mills. Alice Pitts book on cemeteries includes Fitzhugh Mills but his grave is not listed. I believe David was married probably at least twice. Family info indicates he was married to a Fitzhugh.But I cannot find any connection.David's children as much as I can find include Seab(Sebe) Myers, Janie Hoard, Aggie McCarver, Lee Myers and John Skaggs. Would appreciate any info on Fitzhugh Mills. David Myers died Dec 1904. He was age 70 something when he died. ed note: David died Dec 3 1904, at 11 am. age 70 years and 3 months. V 1-33. I looked at the info and his residence is listed at Fitzhugh Mills, his doctor residing at Lucas. DL Myers married Susan Staggs in 1867. The obit index indicates a newspaper article reporting his death
Eugene R. Preaus Date:2002-11-20 -1321 Pine Street, New Orleans, LA &0118 - Graves/Harris - I am searching for the date of death and place of burial of my wife's great-grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Harris. She was born in 1832 in Tennessee and married first, Joseph Lee Kerr, my wife's great-grandfather, who died during the Civil War. Sarah Elizabeth Harris married second, Paddy Paul Graves and, thereafter, moved to Texas. Notes on some family correspondence indicate that she lived in Collin County, near McKinney. According to the information I have, she died in January, 1893. ed note: No death recorded in Collin county. The Democrat records her death June 25 1891.
Steve Coates Date:2002-11-17 -120 New Moore Rd. Kingsport, TN. 37660 - Coats/Coates - I am trying to find my ancestors. I have gotten back to gggggg-grandparent Christopher Coats b.1788. He had 8 children, it is believed that some of them moved to Texas in early-mid 1800's. possible names would be William P., George, Eliza, Elizabeth,and James. Could anyone help me out and point me in right direction. I can not find Christopher's parents, have hit a brick wall for time being.
Cheryl Pittman Dedrickson Date:2002-11-15 -8202 E. 116th St, Perkins, OK 74059 -PITTMAN, FREEMAN, BURFORD - Seeking information for Maggie Adelia (Pittman) Freeman. She was born 15 Apr 1863 in Collin county to Isham and Eliza (Burford-Stone) Pittman. From her brother's obit, I know she was living in Arlington, Tarrant, TX, in 1916. However, my dad and his sister remember their father going to visit his Aunt Maggie, who lived around Plano. I was not aware her married name was Freeman until learning of the obit recently. Some family members had previously thought her married name was Froman. My aunt, now 85, believes Maggie had a daughter who became very religious and possibly lived in Dallas. Any help appreciated.ed note: no death recorded at the courthouse.
Audrey Valente Date:2002-11-15 -504 Poppy way, Aptos, CA 95003 -Derrick, Hook, Dennis - DERRICK, HOOK, DENNIS My grandmother, PEARL VIOLA DERRICK, born Nov. 3, 1888 in Farmersville, TX. She married james A. Dennis and they moved to Okla in 1906. She is the daughter of WILLIAM DERRICK b. 1854, and L.V. (HOOKS) DERRICK. WILLIAM DERRICK and L.V. HOOKS were married on March 4, 1880 In Farmersville. They both died in Farmersville,TX (Collin Cty). ed note: WF Derrick also was married to LA Vernon in 1897. Laura Derrick died Jan 18 1925, age 66 and is buried at Bethleham Cemetery, info reported by WD Vernon on death certificate.
Sara Georgiadis Date:2002-11-14 -502 E. 40th St - Talkington, McKnight, Martin, Horn - James Thomas McKnight, my g. grandfather, b.6 March 1863, unknown birthplace, m. Louisa Quintina Martin 15 Dec 1887 in Collin Co., moved to Indian Territory to homestead Horn land in Pryor Creek, I.T. in 1890. Both died in Indian Territoy, Louisa in 1895 and James in 1898. The four young children were returned to Prosper, Collin Co. to be raised by their grandparents Rev. Jeremiah Martin and Ruth Ellen Horn (b c 1846, dau of Rev Jeremiah Horn)Martin. Nothing is known about James' background as he was orphaned very young and his children were very young when he died. I do not believe he was originally from Collin Co. and have searched the 1850 Collin Co. census and found NO McKnights. Have not searched 1860 and any subsequent censuses would not help as he was b. in 1863 and if orphaned very young, parents would not appear in 1870. Would like any information anyone might have. Family note says he had a half brother and sister living in Brownwood, Tx. although there is no note indicating if they were children of his mother or father, therefore last name is unknown. Thanks for any info. or assistance.ed note: no death recorded for the Martins in Collin county but the newspapers reported Ruth in Dec 1905 and Jeremiah in Jan 1914. Perhaps more info can be found there.
Kim Liner Date:2002-11-14 -PO BOX 2574, Bullhead City, AZ 86430 -Liner - My grandmother in-law was Daisy Mae Liner, and I believe she was a midwife. Edward Liner was her husband. There were three or four boys, on whose nick-name was Pistol Liner and he owned a used car lot in Farmersville. I believe that she has been gone now for well over 20 years. Would like any information or pictures available of their property or about babies Daisy Mae delivered. Just any information you might have on surviving relatives, whatever you have. ed note: EE Liner and Daisy Rich were married in 1915 Vol 17-581. Everette Edward Liner died 9/19/1983 age 93. Daisy Rich Liner died 8/5/1971 age 81. 1830 census lists Ruth, Edward, Frances and Weldon. Collin county births recorded were Ruth Arline b 9/23/1916 d 9/15/1998 age 81 - married Garvin White in 1935; Thomas Edward b 5/4/1919; Mary Frances b 8/18/1923 married William Roy White in 1940; Robert Weldon b 10/19/1928. They lived on the Verona Blue Ridge Road. In 1920 they were in Granger TX. Children were Ruth and a son, Pat, possibly a nickname for Thomas Edward

Shirley Roach King Date:2002-11-07 -Weatherford, Texas Roach, Morris - I am seeking any information on the Larkin Roach family who moved to Collin County in the late 1880's from Tennessee. Larkin Roach married Sarah Elizabeth Morris, daughter of Jasper Watson Morris in July, 1893 in McKinney. Larkin had a brother, George Roach who also lived in the Collin County area for several years and had a large family. A sister, Dora married possibly an Ashby and 2nd a man named Harris and they later lived in Oklahoma. Any help appreciated.

Betty Bobo Niemann Date:2002-11-07 -10881 Richmond #1115, Houston Tx 77042-4730 Harris - Located in the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada Tx is a headstone with this name "Mrs Harris - 1918" I need more information on this "Mrs Harris" What was her first name, date of birth, etc. Does anyone know anything about this "Mrs Harris"? ed note: no female Harris deaths recorded in 1918.

Wayne Brashear Date:2002-11-04 -2227 Ellington Drive, Corona, CA 92880 - Brashear, Blackwell - Lester Marie Blackwell, b. 31 Mar 1886 in Collin Co. parents were Lemuel Blackwell and Martha Haney according to her birth affidavite made by a J. D. Pitt in Oklahoma in 1943. Cannot locate Lemuel or Martha anywhere in Collin Co. ed note: no birth or death recorded.

Nancy Sterling Tyler Date:2002-11-02 -6031 Lloyd Court, Dallas, TX 75252 - Sterling, Goodnight - Always looking for additional information on these families that arrived in Collin County after 1870. The Goodnights settled west of what is now Prosper about 1871 and Henry Sterling came to the Rock Hill/Prosper area about the early 1890's.
G. Scott Younkin Date:2002-10-29 -2501 W. 10th St., Port Angeles, WA. 98363 -Haun - I am looking for anything about the Edward Taylor Haun and Bailey Blalock familes, Edmond Taylor was my grandfather. He was born in Tenn. in 1893. He married Sally Coats, born in Tenn in 1891. Have no idea where they were married but think in TX. Possibly Plano TX. On 8 December, 1910 their first son was born on a farm near Plano TX. His birth certificate says he was born in Plano but it also says born at home and his fathers occupation was farmer so he must have been born on a farm somewhere around Plano TX. Grandfather died sometime in 1914. Don�t know the exact date. My grandmother Sally Coates Haun later married a Bailey Blalock. I have no idea just when. The had a daughter in 1925 and a son in 1928. According to my information they were born in Texas. Considering the times I would suppose they were married somewhere around or in Pano TX. Same with the children. I am looking for any information about Edmond Taylor Haun, Sally Coates Haun, Edgar Bruce Haun. ed note: Her marriages were not recorded in Collin county. No death recorded for Sally Blalock. Death recorded for Edmond Taylor Haun, Nov 25 1910, age 17, V 3-538. I have a copy of the certificate which verifies he is the husband of Sally Coats Haun. Born June 9 1893 in TN. His parents were Charlie Haun and Minnie Marshall, both b TN

Greg Wood Date:2002-10-27 -1312 Michael Drive, Alabaster,. Or -po box 590, Alabaster, Alabama 35007 -Allen, White, Wade - I am looking for some help with a couple of Census lookups. I am looking for Amos William Allen born Aug 19, 1863 in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama. He married Nancy Richardson also from Alabama. She was born Jul 12, 1863. They move to Texas from Alabama shortly after 1900. I was able to find them in McKinney in 1920,.unfortunately our local libraries do not have the Census information for Texas available. Index shows him as Amer. They both died in the 1930s and are interred in the Williams Cemetery. According to the 1920 Census, Amos work in the Mills. Living with him and his wife is their daughter Texie Allen White and a son-in-law by the name of Oliver White. I would appreciate any information afforded me. Where in TN and VA did this family come from? Who was Benjamin and or Rebecca's father and mother? Would the Peters Colony Files contain any of this information?. The 1870 Collin County census shows, 164-165 Skaggs Rebecca 58 FW keeping house VA Blackwell James 34 MW schoolteacher TN Blackwell Jorl {?} 26 farm laborer TN Blackwell Ann 24 FW at home TN Blackwell Emily 20 FW Tx Did Benjamin E. Blackwell die between 1850 and 1870 if so when and where?, Did Rebecca remarry?, [to a Skaggs] later in the 1870's she was known as Granny Perry, In the 1872 Parker Co tax rolls J.H.Blackwell and A.C.Blackwell are listed with Charlotte {Gordon} Blackwell the widow of thier brother Upton Oregon Blackwell who was killed by indians in 1871. ed note: Rebecca Blackwell married Robert Skaggs 1855, V1-325.

Mary Elizabeth Laird b. abt. 1859 GA (according to 1910 & 1920 Collin Co. censuses) Children (according to picture I have), W.T., Wayne, Maggie, Daisy, Marve, Lydia, Mattie & George. Connection to Smith family. Joseph Alston Smith m. Daisy Lee Ashmore 9-1-1905. Joseph b. 10-2-1883 GA and Daisy b. 1895 MS. Joseph d. 12-1965 buried Pecan Grove Cem. Do not know the parents of Joseph. Supposed to have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Two sisters were Lillie Warren and Maudie Musser. Children of Joseph and Daisy were Margaret Fay b. abt. 1907, Mabel Margaret b. 11-12-1908, Era b. abt. 1919, Edna b. abt. 1920 and Joseph Alston, Jr. b. Unknown. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Fran Hall Date:2002-10-18 -P.O. Box 66, Gatesville, TX 76528 - Craver - My relatives were Joseph F. Craver married to Mary J. Reich. He diedabout 1926. Joseph had an older brother - Henry Harrison Craver that died in July 1921 in Climax. He was a veteran of the Civil War. They were from a family of three brother and three sisters. I'm not sure if the whole family came from North Carolina to Texas. Their parents were Joseph and Sallie (Disher) Craver. I would like to find out more information about them. ed note: no marr recorded for Joseph or Henry. Joseph died Feb 19 1927 age 78. Harrison H died July 3 1921 age 81. Sarah Craver died Aug 22 1938, age 93.
Jason Jones Date:2002-10-15 - Borchardt, Frederick - I'm looking for information on the Borchardt or Frederick families who lived in the Wylie/Plano area. I'm especially interested in William and Louise Frederick.

His wife's name was Elizabeth (Nannie) Crow. They had two children a John (J.C.) Stoddard and Annie Stoddard who married a Hill. The John (J.C.) Stoddard was a farmer and Baptist Minister in Belton. He married Allie White,daughter of Coleman White. They are both buried in Belton. I have not been able to find any marriage records for John (J.C.) Stoddard and Allie White. Their marriage records might be in the Collin County Court House. I would like to know if anyone has seen a marriage record for them. I am interested in knowing about the White family. Casner (b1822 MO) and his son John Lewis Casner (b1851 IA) who were tried for murder in 1900 in Haskell County, TX. They were convicted, appealed and won the appeal. They sold the last of their range land in 6-1902; they were at the courthouse and signed papers selling the land. They just disappear after that. Since they had been involved in the killing of nine men some years before in TX, I thought perhaps they may have been in the book.

Jerry Coulter Date:2002-07-13 - Kirkland, Taylor, Mills - Harvey & Caroline (Hearn) Kirkland came to Collin Co. from Wilson Co., Tn. in 1882 and settled in the Vineland Community. Harvey died in 1883. Caroline died in 1913. I have been unable to locate the burial place.

M.25 Nov 1869 to Dr. Jeosph E.Dulaney b. 1830 Blountsville, Sullivan Co TN. d.8 Sept 1877, Sullivan Co TN. 3 children-Corrine, Annie Mary, & Joseph Field Dulaney.James Sanford Muse of the Muse Academy did an acrostic on Lucy Annie Field's name. Have orig. newspaper clipping of event. Need to know more about the three children-did they marry and have children? Where did they live etc?. Are the dates and info I have correct? I am looking for his father/mother lines. His mother was Julia Frances Elmore and his father was William James Sims Russell. I have quite a bit of info. from Grayson County,Tx. where they are buried but I have not been able to find the Elmore's history or William James Sims Russell's history.
