THOMAS HARRIS, son of Abram HARRIS  and Esther DENMAN was born 29 Jan 1799 in Greene County, PA. He emigrated to Knox County, Ohio  in  1821. He married Jane CLUTTER 10 Jan 1822 of Knox County, Ohio  by  whom  he had eight children.  Mr. Harris  was  one  of the early settlers of Knox County, Ohio and one of the heaviest stock dealers in the country.  He was compelled to drive his stock over the mountains, on foot, as there  were  no  facilities for shipping in those early days, but through the fatigue of a pioneer and mountain travel with stock, he gained considerable wealth.  He died 8 Feb 1850 and was  buried  in the Bell Church graveyard at Morgan Township, Knox County, Ohio.
