REV. AUTIE CONLEY, 89, of Dever Road, Lucasville, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 22, 2002 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.  He was born January 4, 1913 in Crockett, Kentucky, a son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Smith) Conley.  He was a graduate of Crockett High School on May 15, 1935, where he played baseball and basketball.  He was a member of Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church, ordained by the Enterprise Association as a minister in 1950, and served as assistant clerk of this association from 1960 to 1995.  He served as pastor of a number of churches, and was a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465 for 51 years and the Dayton Pipe Fitters Union No. 162 for 53 years.  He was married to Nancy Alice “Dottie” Ison on May 22, 1935 in Crockett, Kentucky.  To this union was born Juanita Conley Teeters, Randall Paul Conley, Boyd Cecil Conley and James Keith Conley, who died at birth.

 

In addition to his parents, Autie was preceded in death by two wives, Nancy Alice “Dottie” Conley on March 18, 1972, Eliza (Bradley) Conley on October 1, 1992, a son James Keith Conley at birth, one sister, Betty (Conley) Fannin, and one brother, Lonnie Conley.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Juanita (Conley) Teeters of Jacksonville, North Carolina; two sons, Randall Paul Conley and his wife Barbara of Lucasville, Boyd Cecil Conley and his wife, Tena of Lucasville; one sister, Bessie (Conley) Fannin of Lucasville; four step-daughters, Wilma (Doug) Ison and Elizabeth (Gayle) Hammond both of West Liberty, Kentucky, Willa Dingus of Kettering, Martha Whittaker of Portland, Oregon; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Liz and Bryon Fugate, Paul Douglas and Yuli Conley, Dennis A. and Connie Conley, Corey and Anna Conley, Jennifer and James Dummitt, Anita and Dave Bailey, Patricia and Jim Sloan; 14 great-grandchildren, Ashley Fugate, Katie, Jill and Sarah Dummitt, Emily and Elizabeth Conley, Matthew, Jonathan and Randall Autie Conley, Lennis and Rachel Clark, Heather McLaughlin, Sara Bailey, Jessica Sloan; a niece Alice Fannin, and a nephew, W.C. Fannin, Jr.

 

Funeral services will be conducted April 24, 2002 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Henry Ward and Rev. Phillip Bailey officiating.  Committal and burial services will be in Fannin Cemetery in Crockett, Kentucky on April 25, 2002.
