Arthur J. Kibler

     Arthur J. Kibler, 74, of 137 Ross St. died at 2:25 p.m. Friday (June 25, 1971) at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo where he had been a patient for ten days.
     Mr. Kibler was born in Batavia on June 24, 1897, son of the late Jacob and Teresa Muntz Kibler.  He was a retired foreman for the former Massey-Ferguson plant.  Mr. Kibler was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Holy Name Society.
     Surviving are his wife, Carol Belger Kibler; four daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Arlene) Leaton of 7720 Lewiston Rd., Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Davis of 135 Vine St., Mrs. James (Rita) Calmes of 7092 Gilbert St., LeRoy, and Mrs. Dominic (Nancy) Lomazzo of Garden City, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 
 


Mrs. Fred J. Howe

     Mrs. Irene G. Howe, 61, of 216 North St., died at 2 this morning (Oct. 5, 1961) at Genesee Memorial Hospital where she had been a medical patient since May 22.  She had  been in failing health for several years.
     Born in Batavia Nov. 16, 1899, Mrs. Howe was the daughter of the late Jacob and Teresa Muntz Kibler.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Rosary and Altar Society.
     Surviving are her husband, Fred J.; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Lewis of the North St. address; a stepson, Assistant Postmaster Frederick J. Howe; a brother, Arthur Kibler of 137 Ross St.; a grandson, Richard M. Lewis and a step-grandson, Dana F. Howe and several nieces
 
 
 
 


Jacob Kibler

Former Darien Resident Died From Apoplexy in Batavia
     Jacob Kibler died at his home, No. 48 Edward street at midnight last night, after a short illness from apoplexy.
     Mr. Kibler was born on August 24, 1853 in Sheldon and had resided in Batavia six years, coming here  from Darien.  He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Meyers of South Byron, Mrs. George S. Smith of Warsaw, Mrs. Jacob Kibler of Batavia and Miss Matilda Kibler of Buffalo; two sons, Edward Kibler of Batavia and William Kibler of Rochester; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Herr of Rochester, Mrs. Michael Caltaux and Mrs. Arthur Wilcox of Warsaw and Mrs. Kate Conrad of Los Angeles, Cal., and eight grandchildren
 
 


Jacob Kibler

     Jacob Kibler, 66, of No. 137 Ross street, died at his home at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon (April 21, 1939), following a three months illness.
     Mr. Kibler was born at Sheldon on September 14, 1872, a son of the late John and Mary Stephen Kibler.  He had resided in Batavia 45 years, having been employed at the Massey Harris Co. 44 years, 25 years of which he was a foreman.
     Mr. Kibler was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and the Rosary and Scapular Society.
     Mr. Kibler is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amelia Kibler; a son, Arthur J., of No. 143 Ross street; a daughter, Mrs. Fred J. Howe of No. 117 Trumbull Parkway; five sisters, Mrs. Lena Kennedy of Silver Springs, Mrs. Fred Simmons of Auburn.  Mrs. Catherine Cash, Miss Rachel Kibler and Miss Delia Kibler of Elba; a brother, Charles Kibler of Auburn; four grandchildren, Arlene May, Marjorie Jean, Rita Jane and Nancy Ann Kibler, and several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services for Mr. Kibler will be held from his late homeat 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning and at St. Joseph's Church at 10 o'clock.  Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetary.

Mrs. Jacob Kibler.

     Mrs. Catherine Kibler died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles A. McWain of No. 9 Spruce Street. at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from heart disease.  She was the widow of Jacob Kibler.
     Mrs. Kibler was born in Buffalo on May 3, 1840.  but resided most of her life with her family at Sheldon.  Her husband died there eight years ago and she then moved to Batavia to reside with her daughter.  SHe is survived by two sons, Joseph of Sheldon and George Kibler of Buffalo; five daughters (besides Mrs. McWein), Mrs. Fred McNair of Rochester, Mrs. Geo. Gehardt of Corfu, Mrs. Frank Oberlin of Buffalo and Mrs. Martin McMahon and Mrs. George Zehler of Batavia; 34 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
     The funeral will be held from St. Cecilia's church at Sheldon on Wednesday morning the interment being in the cemetary at Sheldon.--Monday's Batavia News.
 
 
 


MRS. JOHN KIBLER

Death of Native of Germany at Her Home on West Main Street.

     Mrs. Mary Kibler, wife of John Kibler, died at her home, No. 91 West Main street, after an illness which had confined her to her bed two weeks.  She had been in ill health some time.
     Mrs. Kibler was born in Germany  on April 23, 1833.  Her maiden name was Mary Stephan.  She came to America when 13 years of age and settled in Lancaster.  She was married to Mr. Kibler 53 years ago on September 18th and they went to Sheldon, where they lived up to three years ago, when they moved to Batavia.
     Besides her husband Mrs. Kibler leaves three sons, Andrew of Buffalo, Jacob of Batavia, and Charles of Auburn, and six daughters, Mrs. Lena Kennedy of Perry, Mrs. Charles DeWolf, Mrs. George Kibler and Miss Delia Kibler of Batavia.  She also leaves two brothers, Jacob and John Stephan of Lancaster, and a sister, Mrs. Michael Anstett of Lancaster, and nine grandchildren.
     The funeral will be held from the house at 9:30 o'clock and from St. Mary's Church  at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, the Rev. R. E. Walsh officiating.  The interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetary.
 
 


WILFRED J. KIBLER
     Wilfred J. Kibler of Java Center died on March 10, 1964.
     Mr. Kibler, 58, years of age, was born in Sheldon, a son of the late John and Anna Meyer Kibler.
     He was the husband of Frances Conrad Kibler; father of John of South Wales, Mrs. WIlliam Carder of East Aurora, Mrs. Kathryn Stroh , Margaret and Mary Kibler of Java Center; brother of Anthony of South Wales, Raymond of Sheldon, Mrs. LaVern Fontaine of Strykersville and the late Ruth Perry.  He is also survived by three grandchildren.
     Friends may call at the Funeral home of W. S. Davis, Inc. in Arcade, where a prayer will be held Friday morning at 9:30.  Funeral Services will take place at St. Patrick's Church in Java Center at 10:15 o'clock.  Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetary.
