Ivar was the son of Lawrence Larson and Hilma Petterson

He was born on December 20, 1900 in New Haven, Connecticut according to his birth certificate
He was the brother of Elsa Larson Knudsen, Ruth Larson Gunarson,Harry Larson and Raymond Larson. The Larson family is of Swedish descent.

His mother, Hilma Petterson, was from Gotland, Sweden and his father, Lawrence Larson, was from Werenland, Sweden.

On August 29, 1929 he married Karen Andersonin New Haven, Connecticut (Click here to see their wedding photo) and they remained happily married for over 50 years.(Click here to see news article) Ivar was a master plumber, and Karen was a housewife. Together, they had 3 children, Lawrence, Dorothy and Walter.

Ivar and Karen lived on View Street in New Haven. They lived for 17 years on Ott Road in Cheshire with their daughter Dorothy, and their son-in-law
Arthur Civitelli,whom they thought of as a son.

On September 27, 1980 Ivar Lawrence Larson died of arteriosclerotic heart disease according to his death certificateat Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut and is buried in Beaverdale Memorial Cemetery in Hamden, Connecticut.
