Click on any name that is underlined to learn more about that person. Much of the research on this page is my own, but I owe a lot to others who have helped in a variety of ways. Some of the older generations (beyond Generation 10) are best guesses based on material found on the Internet, with the exception of the Melyn family, which is well documented. | This aerial photo of the farm where we grew up southeast of Keosauqua, Van Buren County, Iowa, was taken in the early 1950s. The folks sold the farm in the mid-1960s and moved to Keosauqua, where they operated the Goodie Garden Cafe. None of the farm buildings remain. |  |
Our ahnentafel
Ahnentafel is a German word meaning ancestor chart. After the first generation, which would be me and my brothers, double the number for the father and add one for the mother. Except for No. 1, the even numbers are always male and the odd numbers are always female (No sexist comments, please!)
We are very fortunate to have photos of this many generations, but as you can see, there are many more missing. If you have access to photos or further information for any of the people named below, and are willing to share, please contact me. Thanks.
