• As mentioned elsewhere, the information here is in no way complete, and simply consists of those entries which I have transcribed for others as a "lookup", or were of specific interest to me (and those contained on any copies I obtained of those of interest to me).
• Where Do or, " were used to denote ditto, I have filled in the implied information.
  
• In some instances, especially a wife's occupation where is says such and such's wife, a line has been drawn through on the form. I have indicated this by using italics.
• There are many incomplete entries on the following pages of census. I have extraced data from the notes I took, many of which were trying to determine the correct people. Most of these notes will consist of entries with only a relationship.

I wish to acknowledge my use of an Index to the parish of Tain in the 1851 census. It was published by the Highland Family History Society. It enabled me to offer to do these lookups, and indeed, I would not have ordered the film if I had not seen the index, I was browsing through all the indexes available at my local FHC for Connochies, when I came across an entry which rang a bell, and got me one generation further back.
