Had thought my Scott ancestry was either Chas Henry to Chas Henry or Henry to Henry to Chas.
Have also info of a Chas Scott married to a Mary Alice Scott (NB Ca born) in 1850 Maine Census at Lubec (across from New Brunswick , nr Campobello) ..would confirm some famly references to Delano relations (Maine & Massachusetts) & some Nova Scotia/New Brunswick A.G. Bells.
A prior note at this site had this confirming information .. but the source could not be remembered (nor relocated) .. the [Anne} may have been incorrect .. as Alice is a possibility for the [A] ... and she was widowed 1850 and earlier married to a Mr Cummings.
Henry M Scott b 1827-Portland, Maine .. m Jan 5, 1851 A[Anne] or [Alice] Pingram [1850 w. Cummings] Rev JS Eaton The A may have stood for Alice
The Chas Scott of Lubec could also have been a Henry and we relate assumedly to Henry Scott son of Samuel Scott (b 1783) of Calais, Me - one of the old Maine economic loyalists ..joining others to settle Maine's remoteness against British-Canadian re-settlement before the Webster-Ashburton Treaty (1846-8?) settled the border of Maine & Canada.

This letter is not part of the contents of the 'missing' Mary Alice Scott family papers & her family bible .. last seen by Scott M Connolly in July 1994. That family archive was maintained with photographs in an antique wooden 'writing' box, a portable desk; which had the name or initials of Mary Ann Durgin
