Also, Eli English served as did William W. Willingham (1842-1910) served in Capt. Hendry's Company and was in 1864 wounded by a lead ball in the right foot and declared incapacitated for duty and returned home. William H. Willingham was his father.

Of Captain Francis Asbury Hendry (1833-1917), they wrote in part: "When the Civil War broke out, he joined the Confederate Commissary Department, but left in 1863 to raise his own company of cavalry. Major Munnerlyn rated Hendry's company as the most efficient and reliable in the entire battalion. His company reversed the misfortune that the Confederates had been experiencing in southwest Florida..."
