Obituary of Alfred Rich, October, 1912


Be it resolved that whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from our midst by death our much beloved Brother, Alfred Rich.

Therefore, it is resolved that in the death of Brother Rich, our community has lost a kind friend and our church a faithful and active member.

Resolved that a page of our church record be given to his memory.

Brother Alfred Rich was born in Decatur County, Georgia Feb. 27, 1852(1) and was married to Mary E. Stewart March 1st 1874 and moved with his wife to South Florida about 1875 and was baptised into Bethany Church March 12, 1888 where he has remained a faithful member up to his death. Also has served as a Deacon since the year A.D. 1889. He leaves a wife, eight sons, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.

Obituary of Mary E. Rich


Be it Resolved that whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from our midst by Death our much esteemed Sister Rich.

Resolved that in the death of Sister Rich that our community has lost a kind friend and our church a faithful member.

Resolved that a page of our church record be given to her memory.

Sister Rich was born in Worth County, Ga. July 27, 1852 and departed this life Dec. 3, 1912(1). She was the daughter of W. B. Stewart and was married to Alfred R. Rich in 1874 and moved with her husband to South Florida in 1875. She was baptised into the fellowship of Glover Baptist Church in 1873 by Rev. Jud Combee and came with a letter to this church in 1888 where she has remained a faithful member up to her death. Sister Rich was a consistent Christian, a faithful wife and a kind friend to all that knew her.

She leaves eight sons, three brothers, three sisters, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
