Order The last will and testament of Caleb Browning deceased was this
of day presented in open court and proved by the oaths of William J.
Court Jones and Thomas Fondren subscribing witnesses thereto Whereupon
it is ordered that said will be recorded
I Caleb Browning, of the County of Lafayette & State of Mississip
pi, do make & publish this my last will and testament, hereby
revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time here
tofore made-
My son James C Browning is to have the entire control & Management
of my estate
And, as to such worldy estate as it hath pleased God to entrust me
with, I dispose of the as follows:
First- I desire that all my just debts be paid out of my property or
effects
Second- I desire my land I now live on or possess to be divided equally
between my three sons, James C Browning, John A Browning, and
Albert P Browning
Third- I will & Bequeath to my Daughter Child Elizabeth Alvis thirty
dollars to be paid her after all my debts is paid & a suffutient
amount is collected to pay it without rendering the family dis
tress.
and Fourth- the ballance of my property to remain together for the support of
my wife Patience during her natural life and the girls or my
daughters to remain with & be supported out of the common stock- &
when they leave to be given what can be spared them in witness
whereunto I set my last seal Oct 25th 1844
