I am researching the SAMMONS family from Surry county, NC. DAVID SAMMONS (my g-g grandfather)
first appears in the 1830 census of that county; he appears again in the 1840 census. In both
enumeration's he appears with a growing family but in the census of 1850 he appears in the
household of Susannah Shores. He had married ELIZABETH SHORES of that household within the
past year. I would like to identify his parents and determine the fate his first family. I
feel David is from the VA line of Salmon/Sammons though his daughter, Nancy Jane, married
back into the Salmons (Joseph) line from DE in 1872.
