Some descendants spelled their name Sammons/Sammon/Samon/ and Salmon. Notes: In Ireland, Salmon is an anglicization of O'Braddin. This surname became fairly numerous in Leix and north Kilkenny where it was established in the 16th century. Sammons families were found in Kildare and Dublin Counties as early as 1529.
