Granted in 1664 (Vol I p 458 of Cavaliers and Pioneers) Father died in 1686.
Margarett Lady Culpeper, Thomas Lord Fairfax. Ye To all Ye whereas Ye
know Ye Ye that We for and in consideration Ye do give and grant unto George
Bush, John Bush and Abraham Bush of the county of Lancaster, Bounded as
followith /Viz./ Beginning at an old corner marked popular of Abraham Bush’s
standing on the south side of Morattico Swamp by a path that leads from the
said Bush’s to Richd. Welches, from the poplar up the main swamp South East
eighty poles to a branch, thence South crossing the said branch twice eighty
two poles to a corner white oak, standing just by the said branch on the south
side there of from the white oak up the said branch South thirty degrees
Easterly forty poles, thence South thirty two poles to an old corner Spanish
oak standing just by the side of the two Branch, thence by an old line of
marked trees, South West by West one hundred and seventeen poles to a corner
Spanish oak standing in Mr. Thomas Chattins line, thence along Chattins line
South West fifty one poles to a marked corner gum standing on the side of a
branch in the said Chattins lines, thence North West by marked trees bounded
upon Henry Stonehams, eighty four poles to a corner red oak standing on a small
hill thence by marked trees North sixty two degrees Westerly thirty eight poles
to a corner red oak of the said Stonehams. Standing just by a path that leads
from the said Stonehams to Rowleys, thence along Stonehams line West South West
fifty five poles to a steak drove down in Job Hills corn field near a corner
red oak of the said Stonehams from the steak West by North through Jobe’s
cornfield forty four poles to a corner dogwood standing near Jobes cornfield fence.
From the dogwood North fifty degrees West eighty poles to a corner red oak
which goes by the name of Robert Youngs thence North bounding upon the said
Young, eighty nine poles to a stone just by and oak stump in the said Youngs
old field an near his dwelling house from the stone, East by market trees an
bounding upon the land formerly granted to Abraham Bush and Peter Elmor
two hundred and fifty four poles to a stake standing in Abraham Bush’s old
field near the said Bush’es old dwelling house from the stake, North by a line
of stakes and marked trees one hundred and fifty poles bounding upon the said
Bush to the corner Poplar where it first began and containing and being now
laid out for two hundred and fifty three acres Ye together Ye Royal Mines Excepted
Ye to have and to hold yielding and paying six shillings yearly Ye provided Ye
dated the Thirteenth day of January one thousand six hundred
