Poor House Story: A clearinghouse for information about 19th century American Poorhouses for ... history buffs, genealogists, teachers/students, and others with a similar interest. Check on the Kansas State pages for the family of George Guntle/Ella Belle Warbinton. George was Superintendent of the Oswego, Labette Co., KS Poor Farm from 1901 to 1922. These are Phyllis grandparents and mother as shown in the photo of the poor farm.
