COMMODORE PERRY COLLIER

Commodore Perry Collier was born November 9, 1850. He is pictured above with his brothers Andrew Jackson and William DeWitt. They were the sons of Commodore Perry Collier, Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Boone, who came to Texas before 1836.

Commodore Perry Collier, Jr. spent his early years in Red River County, Texas. On December 5, 1873 he married Sarah Lovit Clark in McLennan, Texas. Sarah was born in Missouri in 1850 to Charles Igantius Clark and Mary M. Proffitt. Sarah�s family moved to Texas in the middle 1850�s. Her father served in the Civil War and died near Paris, Lamar County, Texas in 1862.

Commodore and Sarah had the following children Nettie Collier, born abt. 1876 in Texas; Jackson born Oct. 1878 in Texas; Milton born Sept. 1879 in Texas; Bessie born Jun 1882 in Texas; and Willie born Jan 1889 in Texas.

Sarah died in Texas before 1900 and Commodore Perry had other wives. Commodore and Sarah are buried in Greenleaf Cemetery, Brownwood, TX (northwest corner along fence).
