Heinrich Hentschel

Heinrich Hentschel (1834-1887)

Heinrich Hentschel (also spelled Haentschell and Henschel) was born in Dauban, Prussia, Germany October 27, 1834. He married Magdalena Krakowsky, daughter of George Krakosky (Picture of the Krakosky family). Six children were born to Heinrich and Magdalena Hentschel. Anne Christiane was born April 30, 1860 in Germany. Pauline Maria was born February 5, 1865 also in Germany. Anna Emilie was born October 5, 1866. August was born July 13, 1869. Ida was born October 23, 1871, the same year the family immigrated to America. The Hentschel family settled in Warda, Texas. One more child was born to Heinrich and Magdalena, Emma, born April 1876.

Anne Christiane married August Noack; Pauline Maria married Fritz Seelk; Anna Emilie married Christian Schoppa; August married Helene Schneider; Ida married Traugott Michael Schoppa; Emma married Karl Wolff.

Heinrich died in Warda, Fayette County, Texas on September 13, 1887. He is buried at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery in Warda. Magdalena was living with her son August in La Grange, Texas according to the 1900 census. She also lived with her daughter Anna Emilie in Wilbarger County, Texas. Magdalena died in 1902 and was buried at Paradise Cemetery in Wilbarger County. In 1964 she was reinterred to Zion Lutheran Cemetery in the Five-In-One Community near Vernon, Texas.
