Morning prayer funeral service for Cherry Fohn, 40, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, in the Philips & Luckey Chapel with graveside services at 11 a.m. in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Rosary was at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday with Allen Menke, Deacon of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, officiating.

Mrs. Fohn died Tuesday, March 29, in Brackenridge Hospital, Austin, after a lengthy illness. She returned to Rockdale in 1984 after living in Bastrop.

She was born June 21, 1953, in Temple to Mr. and Mrs. Claude (Cleo Nell Clark) Collier, Jr. She had been a secretary since high school.

She and Larry Fohn were married in 1974 in Austin. He preceded her in death in 1976.

Mrs. Fohn was also preceded in death by her father, Claude Collier Jr., Dec. 1, 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Fohn and Laura Jean Fohn, both of Rockdale; her mother and step-father, Cleo Nell and Donald Shuffield of Rockdale; three brothers, John Collier of Rockdale, Mark Collier of College Station and Paul Collier of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two step-brothers, Donald Glen Shuffield of Rockdale and Buddy Shuffield of Cameron; grandparents, Dick and Eloise Clark of Rockdale; and a very dear friend, Calvin Peschke of Rockdale.

Pallbearers were Johnny Collier, Mark Collier, Paul Collier, Chris Fiebrich, Omar Clark and John Pantoja.

Mrs. Fohn was a graduate of Rockdale High School. She worked as a secretary for the Texas Highway Department, Aqua Water Supply in Bastrop, the Bastrop County Sheriff's Department and Lone Star Gas in Austin.

She was a Bastrop teacher's aide and worked many hours with the handicapped of Bastrop.

Mrs. Fohn was a member of the Catholic church.
