Funeral services for Dick Clark, 93, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 1999 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Minister Adrin Fletcher of Murray Street Church of Christ officiated.

Mr. Clark died Wednesday, April 28 in Manor Oaks Nursing Home. He was a Rockdale resident for the past 11 years, formerly of San Saba.

He was born Aug. 17, 1905 in San Saba to Joseph E. and Margaret Franklin (Fry) Clark. He was a farmer who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He married Elois Gunter on July 12, 1927 in San Saba. Mr. Clark was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and member of the Murray Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son Tommie Joe Clark on Dec. 16, 1968; a daughter, Nell Collier Shuffield on April 27, 1997; a granddaughter Cherry Diane Fohn on March 29, 1994; great grandson, Sean Holland; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Elois Clark of Rockdale; a son Jack Clark and wife Lavon of Rockdale; a daughter, Donny Faye Holland of Rockdale; nine grandchildren, Richard Clift Clark, John Collier, Mark Collier, Paul Collier, Wesley Holland, Leah Holland, Howard Holland, Ramona Holland Alford and John Richard Clark; 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Clift Clark, John Collier, Mark Collier, Paul Collier, Wesley Holland, Howard Holland and John Clark.
