Obituary of Elois Gunter Clark

Funeral services for Elois Gunter Clark, 94, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Bill Whaley, minister of Murray Street Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial followed in the IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.

She died Friday, Oct. 24, at the Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Clark was a Rockdale resident for the past 14 years, formerly of San Saba. She was born Nov. 6, 1908 in San Saba to Fred and Etol (Meyers) Gunter. She married Howard Vernon "Dick" Clark on July 12, 1927, in San Saba. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a member of Murray Street Church of Christ since moving to Rockdale.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tommie Joe Clark; a daughter, Nell Collier Shuffield; a granddaughter, Cherry Dianne Fohn; and great-grandson, Sean Holland.

Survivors are a son, Jack Clark and Lavon of Rockdale; a daughter, Donnie Holland of Rockdale; nine grandchildren, Clift Clark, John Collier, Leah Click and Ramona Alford all of Rockdale, Mark Collier of Taylor, Wesley Holland of Austin, John Richard Clark of Denton, Paul Collier of New Mexico and Howard Holland of Falls City; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren, including Hunter Ryan Clark of Rockdale.

Pallbearers were Clift Clark, John Collier, Mark Collier, Paul Collier, Wesley Holland, Howard Holland and John Clark.
