Letter from Mary Graf to her children
Letter from Mary Graf to her children

Sunday night March 3, 1958

Dear Children,

I have just heard two wonderful sermons over the radio so I just thought I would write for a copy and send it to you. It is my prayer that you will read it with consideration. For we never know how long we will be on this earth. And we must get right with our God and be prepared at all time. Only faith in Jesus will save us. And he always knows what we are doing. I confess that I have come far short in giving my dear children the Christian training that I should have and the love that I should have given them. The more I read the Christian Parent, the more I can see where I have failed. My hope is that you will do a better job in training your dear children in the Christian way of life. Because after they are grown then it is too late, as it seems to me.

So far my knowledge has been too weak to speak to you in person, but I acknowledge my sin and short comings and I am consumed about your souls. It is what Jesus wants us to do. He says, Let your light so shine among men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.

My sincere prayer is that you will take this letter read it and let it touch your heart. May the Holy Ghost give you a greater measure of faith.

I also confess with David, Behold I was sinful at birth, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Jesus also said in Prov. 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding.

With Love Your Mother,

Mary Graf
