Funeral services for Nell Collier Shuffield, 67, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 1997 in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rockdale with burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Minister Aubrey Parsons and Rev. Doug Springer officiated.

Mrs. Shuffield died Sunday, April 27 at her home. She was a Rockdale resident for the past 43 years, formerly of San Saba.

She was born Dec. 6, 1929 in San Saba to Dick and Eloise (Gunter) Clark. She worked as a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ. She married Donald Shuffield on Dec. 4, 1976 in Rockdale. She loved to fish and spend time with her grandchildren and taking care of her parents. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Collier on Dec. 1, 1971; a daughter, Cherry Diane Fohn on March 29, 1994; and a brother Tommy Joe Clark on Dec. 16, 1968.

Mrs. Shuffield is survived by her husband Donald "Duck" Shuffield of Rockdale; three sons, John Collier of Rockdale, Mark Collier of Taylor and Paul Collier of Alamogordo, New Mexico; two step-sons, Donald "Doc" Shuffield of Rockdale and Buddy Shuffield of Cameron; a brother, Jack Clark of Rockdale; a sister Donnie Faye Holland of Rockdale; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were A.T. Shuffield, James Ferguson, Clift Clark, Howard Holland, Wesley Holland, and Jim Scott.
