IN MEMORY OF MRS. NANNIE FUTTERER

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth, yea saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labor.
It is with a sad heart that I write these lines in memory of my dear friend and neighbor, Mrs. Nannie Futterer nee Phears. She was born April 29, 1864 in Washington County, Texas, and died at her home near Hamilton, March 20, 1912. With her father, Mr. Phears she moved to Hamilton county and was married to Henry Futterer, July 15, 1891. Deceased is survived by her husband and two children and other relatives. She lived a devoted Christian life and was loved by all who knew her. All that loving hearts and willing hands could do to restore her to health was done, but it was not God's will that she should know the sorrows and sufferings of this world any more and he took her sweet spirit. Only those who have given up a dear mother in death can realize the sorrow in the words. "I have no mother now." Only two months have passed since she died and yet it seems like years since we saw her sweet face. Dear friends, when you read these lines pray one prayer for her lonely husband and dear motherless girls.

In the sod we have laid our loved ones.
And her face no more we shall see
Until we meet with Jesus.
And with Jesus will always be
Dear friend, I can see thee
Like a rose in fairest bloom
But I know that we have laid thee
In the cold and silent tomb
We have met her in her pathway
On earth where once she trod,
Now she's gone to live with Jesus
In her happy home with God.

She has gone to join the Angels
Gone to live with God above
And she is sweetly sleeping
In His everlasting love
She is sleeping sweetly sleeping
On that happy, peaceful shore
Where we hope some day to meet her
Where sad partings come no more.
She was called and quickly taken
To her home beyond the sky
But we must smooth our troubles
And our burdens we must bear.
Dear friends, she has left us
And will be with us no more
For she's gone to live with Jesus
On that happy golden shore.
