Poem in honor of Cherry Diane Fohn
Cherry Diane Fohn

June 21, 1953-March 29, 1994

Two little women growing up,
Learning from the best.
You taught us everything you knew
And improvised the rest.
We'll never forget
the days we spent
out at Bastrop Lake.
Or the little notes
around the house
with the silly jokes you'd make.
You pulled up all the strength you had
When days and time got rough,
and taught us we must
keep on trudging
when our road gets rough.
When our friends came over
to visit you,
we always got so jealous!
"Ya'll are so lucky--we love your mom!"
was what they'd always tell us.
Sometimes we'd argue
and doors would slam--
we all knew we were right.
But you'd stick out your tongue
and open your arms
and everything was alright.
With Daddy gone,
you broke your back
To raise us all these years.
And now that you've passed
we try to feel comfort,
but shed so many tears.
When Wendy told you
you were going to be a grandma,
your face lit up so bright!
But now we know
This child will be blessed
by you and Daddy's light
We know the Lord has brought you home.
And since you are our mother--
We know for sure that we will make it
til the day we're all together.

Forever in our hearts,
Wendy Diane & Laura Jean
