Five-In-One School

This is a skeleton of the Five-in-One School located on FM 1207 near Vernon, Texas in Wilbarger County. The picture was taken March 2002 after a fire had gutted the building.

The Five-in-One School was established in 1929 by combining 5 different schools: Parsley Hill, Antelope, Haney, Guggisberg, and Kincheloe districts.James Parsley, who attended the school and is the grandson of the founder of Parsley Hill said that the five points of the Texas star wereassignedto the five districts. Lower left-Kincheloe; Upper left-Guggisberg; Upper right-Haney; top-Parsley and Lower right-Antelope.

School colors were gold and green. The school was later consolidated with Lockett. The old Lockett School became Lockett Grade School and Five-in-One became Lockett High.
