Port Washington, Wisconsin - 1875

I George C. Daniels of the town of Port Washington in the County of Ozaukee and State of Wisconsin being of sound mind and memory and mindful of the uncertainties of human life do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in the manner following.

First: After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath to my wife Maria L. Daniels all the books, prints, linen, clothing, beds, bedding, household goods, furniture provisions, chattels and effects, other than money or securities for money which shall at my death be in or about my dwelling house and premises at the said town of Port Washington aforesaid.

Second: I also give, devise and bequeath to my said wife the sum of One thousand (1000) dollars.

Third: I also give devise and bequeath to my said wife her heirs and assigns forever all of the following described real estate lying and being situated in the town of Port Washington, County of Ozaukee and State of Wisconsin. More particularly known and described as Lot No. Four (4) of the Subdivision of the West half of the South West quarter of Section number Twenty Eight (28) in Township No. Eleven, (11) North of Range No. Twenty Two (22) East together with all the hereditaments and app??tenances thereunto belonging?, to have and to hold the premises above described to the said Maria L. Daniels her heirs and assigns forever.

Fourth: I give devise and bequeath to my son Marion Daniels the sum of five Hundred (500) dollars.

Fifth: I give devise and bequeath to my son Jerome B. Daniels the sum of Five Hundred (500) dollars.

Sixth: I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Cordelia Hoyt wife of Thomas M Hoyt the sum of Five Hundred (500) dollars.

Seventh: I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Ann Jane Hoyt wife of Antaxerxes Hoyt the sum of Five Hundred (500) dollars.

Eighth: I give devise and bequeath to my Grand-son George S. Daniels son of Nahum Daniels the sum of Five Hundred (500) dollars.

Ninth: I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal property of what nature or kind so ever to my wife Maria L. Daniels and I hereby revoke any and all former wills by me made.

Tenth: I hereby nominate and appoint James W. Vail of the said town of Port Washington the Executor of this my last will and testament and empower him the said James W. Vail to settle confound and compromise any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my said estate.

In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Sixth day of April A.D. 1875.

The above and foregoing instrument consisting of one sheet of legal cut paper, being three pages, was on the day of the date thereof signed sealed published and declared by the said testator George C. Daniels to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have signed our names at his request as witnesses in his presence and in presence of each other.
