George W. Farris Last will and Testament
I, George W. Farris of the county of Macoupin State of
Illinois, do hereby make and declare this my last will and testament in manner
and form following to wit.
First It is my will that all my just debts be fully paid.
Second
After the payment of my just debts I give and bequeath unto my wife,
Nancy, all the land now owned by me, during her natural life.
And it is my will after her death that the land be sold, and the money or
proceeds thereof be equally divided among my heirs.
And it is my will that all the personal property be sold except one two
horse wagon and two horses. And it
is my will, that the money that this property brings be loaned and the interest
is to be subject to the My
wife during her life, and at her death it is my will that the money be And
equally divided among my heirs. And
it is my will that my daughters Sarah Jane and Lucinda have one hundred and
fifty dollars each of the money owing to me as soon as it can be collected.
And it is my will that my wife full possession of all the household
furniture and other articles of personal property not here in enumerated or
otherwise disposed of in this will during her natural life, after having
disposed of a sufficient amount to defray and discharged expresses and debts
aforesaid. And that as her death all
the property aforesaid her bequeathed or so much thereof as may remain
unexpended. It is my will that it
shall be equally divided among my heirs.
And it is my will that James S. Farris and Robert Sawyer be the executors of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

Personally appeared in open court John Walker and Dempsey Sawyer subscribing witness to the foregoing instrument of To be the last will and testament of George W. Farris late of Macoupin Co. deceased who being duly sworn according to law, do depose and say. Each for that the foregoing is the last will and testament of the same George W. Farris. This they subscribe their names thereto as the attesting witness as the the said testator, and in his presence. And in the presence of each other and there subscribed his name thereto in their presence and declared this his last will and testament and the said testor at the time of Same as aforesaid was of was of full age of sound mind and memory and under Subscribed and sworn to in open court this 11th day of February AD 1865.

Farris deceased for an adjustment of claims against the estate of the said deceased and made proof that notice has been given as required by law when W. W. Mitchell presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of forty dollars which was proven and allowed.
Wm V. Farris presented a claim again the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of ninety six dollars which was proven and allowed.
Gilbert Sexton presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of six dollars which was proven and allowed.
John M Davis presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of twenty five dollars which was proven and allowed.
John Schultz presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of thirteen dollars and fifty eight cents which was proven and allowed.
Henry Caldwell presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of five dollars and seventy cents which was proven and allowed.
Sawn Walker presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of two dollars and fifty cents which was proven and allowed.
Robert Sawyer presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of twenty five dollars which was proven and allowed.
James S. Farris presented a claim against the estate of the said deceased amounting to the sum of eighty seven dollars which was proven and allowed.

And now on this day comes Thomas Whittington the petitioner by his attorney Robert B Shirley ad also comes James Farris one of said defendants and the said defendant Robert Sawyer having been served with process more than ten days before the first day of the present term of this court, and being three times solemnly called came not but herein made default. It is therefore ordered that the default of said defendant Robert Sawyer be entered.
And the said James Ferris and Robert Sawyer executors as aforesaid and having failed to file a new bona herein as heretofore ordered by the court Is ordered that the letters testamentary heretofore issued to them as executors of the estate of George W Farris be and the same are hereby revoked. Ordered that citation be dismissed at costs of defendants and execution issue therefore.
