G. TAMMARO & CO.
Is the name of a firm which has been doing business in the city for the past twelve years. G. Tammaro, the senior member of the firm, is located at 78 Main Street, which he has lately improved until it is now one of the handsomest buildings in the city. The interior is fitted up with every convenience which a confectionary store needs and is stocked with a supply of candies, fruits and cigars and tobaccos which would do credit to any large city in the United States. In the rear of the store room is located their candy manufactory , which is fitted up with the latest improved machinery for making all kinds of candy. The room is a model in itself and the firm asks any and all who may be interested in the making of such dainties to call and see them. Another branch of the business is also conducted at this place, that of making ice cream. These gentlemen have the only strictly up-to-date ice cream freezer in the city and are fast securing the cream trade of this section of the country. Their machine can turn-out cream at the rate of 10 gallons every five minutes. The gentleman who has charge of the manufacturing department of this store is one of the best in the business, having had over 30 years experience and has traveled the world over, having at one time been candymaker to the royal famiy at Naples. Mr. Allegretti, the junior member of the firm , is one of the best known young business men of the city. His store at 93 Mechanic Street, has, under his control, been made one of the leading confectionary stores in this place. The stock, which consists of all kinds of candies, fruits, nuts, cigars and tobacco, is a large one and is arranged in an artistic manner. Both of the above stores have the hot soda fountains, which they added to their business last winter at an expense of $500. The firm is rated at $20,000 and are both citizens and tax payers of this place. A specialty of this firm is the making of fine home candies, which they claim are the best in the city and do not cost over half what you would have to pay elsewhere for an inferior grade of goods. They will also make any kind of confectionary, cream or sherberts to order.
