Daniel was the first
son of Richard and Bethia Dart, and was disinherited by his father. In his
will, Richard characterizes his son, Daniel, as being " an ungrateful and
treacherous tome", and accordingly leaves most of the residue of his
property to his younger son Richard. (Hemps Diary. p. 125, Oct 8, 1722).

"Hendersons
especially will be interested in this account. An old "Bible
Commentary" recording marriage, birth, and death records of William
Henderson (1765-1832) m 1789 and his wife, Mary Hazen (1767-1843) and their 12
children has been recently retrieved.
(It is from this source that the dates for David Hazen Henderson were
secured.) This Commentary was found by
young children playing at an abandoned house, Short Creek area, many years
ago. The young girl, now a mature
woman, who got the book took excellent care of it through the years. She is happy to know that the book is
restored, March of 1968, to a lineal descendant of William and Mary, Mrs. Anna
Bentley (Henderson) Gardiner, 35 Sutton Place, New York, N Y 10022."
