Welcome to my little home on the Web! I originally started this page back in 1998, but life got in the way. So now, I am still in the process of getting settled in.
At the moment, this site is devoted only to my family genealogy, and other names that I am researching. I will be updating as time goes on (and as more information becomes available). Needless to say, since I started this page way back then, there have been many updates to my family search. Although I have not yet found the answer to what I was looking for, I have certainly gained quite a bit of knowledge about my subject along the way.
Individual surnames (and their variations) that I am researching are:
Ackerman, Anderson, Arnoldt, Ashley, Austin, Bomm, Busbee, Busby, Buskey, Buzbee, Cline, Conrad, Crow, Deming, Dombrowski, Douthard, Douthit, Dunlap, Eicher, Eichnor, Eisenharth, Eisenhuth, Giddings, Graybeal, Griffing, Hady, Heberling, Heckerling, Herwig, Hollar, Hollars, Holler, Hollers, Hosbach, Jordan, King, Klein, Kline, Koch, Lindeman, Lindemann, Linderman, Lindermann, McNair, Moore, Morgan, Newlon, O'Connell, O'Malley, Osborn, Osborne, Petree, Poinsett, Radcliff, Radcliffe, Rader, Ratcliff, Ratcliffe, Rausch, Roark, Roeder, Rohrbach, Roth, Ryan, Sass, Sasse, Schlatter, Schmidt, Schmit, Schneider, Schweigert, Selden, Seldern, Seldon, Sheesley, Shively, Siehl, Sippel, Sipple, Smith, Snyder, Soldan, Solden, Soldin, Sölden, Soelden, StClair, Suldan, Sulden, Suldin, Suldon, Sultan, Sulton, Vanover, Vaughn, Vaughan, von Saldern, von Seldern, von Sass, von Soldan, von Solden, von Soldin, von Soelden, Wenger, Whidbee, Whidby, Widbee, Widby, Winger, Zimmerhackel, Zuelch, and Zulch.
The following are some of the individuals that I am "stuck" on:
John W. Dunlap, Nicholas Hosbach, Honora O'Connell, Anna Margaretha Schmidt, Bernhardt Schmidt, Heinrich Schmidt, Johannes W. Schmidt, Anna Margaret Smith, Bernard (Barney) Smith, Henry Smith, John W. Smith, Johann Conrad Heinrich Schneider, and Mathias Widby.
Also, ANY information on my elusive von SOLDAN (and various phonetic spellings) line would be most appreciated!! This family may have lived in Alsace during the timeframe of 1700-1870.
Other lines that I have an interest in are:
Anhalt-Bernberg-Schaumburg-Hoym, Asburgo-Lorena, Berlepsch, de Belgique, Habsburg / Hapsburg, Habsburg-Lorraine, Habsburg-Lothringen, Hohenlohe, Hohenzollern, Kirchberg, Nassau-Weilberg, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Schwarzenberg, Solms Braunfels, Wittelsbach, Wurttemberg, Wuerttemberg, Württemberg, von Belgien, von Hungen, von Oesterreich, von Oldenburg, von Schoenau.
I am also interested in information pertaining to any of the 1848 Revolutions in Alsace, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, France, the former Austro-Hungarian Empire (including present-day Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine), Galicia, Prussia, or Russia, and in Gorizia and Gradisca (German: Görz und Gradisca; Italian: Gorizia e Gradisca). I am especially interested in those connected to the House of Habsburg, or to any of the royal/noble houses that were closely aligned with the Habsburgs. Specifically, with liberal cousins of Maximilian, Emperor of Mexico, Archduke Stephen, (Erzherzog Stefan ) / Palatine Stephen of Hungary, the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg, or those involved with Archduke John (Erzherzog Johann), and any of those "48ers" who lived in exile, including displaced members of royalty/nobility of that time frame.
Hopefully, you will see a connection. You can contact me by clicking the link below.
