Polish Seminary    Orchard Lake, Michigan 1910

1910--In 1885 the Poles of America established SS.Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. Until 1909 they remained in this locality, when they purchased the Michigan Military Academy and removed to Lake Orchard. The situation of the Polish Seminary, twenty-six miles north of the city of Detroit, is most charming and ideal. The Academy grounds stand on a gentle slope along the shores of Orchard Lake at an elevation of 1,000 feet above the level of the sea, and are stretched within bow-shot of Pine Lake on the east and Cass Lake on the north. Well-made roads run in every direction over the hills, through little valleys and along the shores of the numerous lakes. About one hundred acres are covered by the Seminary campus and farm.
