Descendants of Gordon McIvor

Generation No. 1

      1.  Gordon McIvor, son of William McIvor (McKeever) and Jane Gordon, was born May 14, 1831 in Ireland, and died December 22, 1908 in Millbrook, Ontario, Canada.  He married Mary Ann Windel (b: 16 Dec 1831, daughter of Jonah Windel) on April 7, 1851 at “Draperstown Meetinghouse in the Parish of Ballsinacreen in the County of Londonderry”.

Notes

Gordon & Mary Ann, along with children William, Thomas & Mary A., immigrated to Canada on the ship “Damascus” that arrived at Quebec City on June 28, 1865. There are different years given as ‘year of immigration’ (by various family members) – but only these three children are included on the passenger list with their parents.

*suspect that Ellen's age & year of birth could be incorrect - given that she and George had a 20 year-old-daughter that was married in 1897 – that would make Ellen 11 years old when she gave birth to Annie (daughter) in 1877 – unless Ellen and Annie’s relationship was ‘step.’

1871 census has Louisa, age 1 {born ~1869/1870}

1901 census has Louisa, age 26 - born 4 Aug 1874 {Living with parents on 1901 Canada Census

ON DURHAM (East/Est) (#55) Subdistrict: Millbrook (Village) d-1 Page 2}

-Louisa year of birth is 1874 on the 1901 census, but there was also a one-year-old Louisa on the 1871 census. Possible that a daughter named Louisa was born in 1870 and subsequently died; then another daughter, born in 1874, was also named Louisa.

1905 - marriage gives age as 28 {born ~1877}
