"A derivative of OE taesel, 'teasel' one who teasels cloth. The teasler drew up from the body of the cloth all the loose fibres with teasels, the dried heads of the 'fuller's thistle'."1

They had 15 children christened between 1737 and 1757. m:(2) Cornelia de Rijcke, chr: July 24, 1740 Kortgene, Holland, daughter of Pieter de Rijcke and Jacquemijntje Seriers (3 children between 1762 and 1765); m:(3) 24 August or 14 September 1772 to Johanna Meulenberg, widow of Cornelis Boogert (no children).

XI. Pieter Tazelaar, b:7 March 1900 Colijnsplaat, Holland; d:16 February 1978 Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; m: Adrieana Van der Weelen, b:26 August 1900; d:1 June 1944 Holland. Further records about Adrieana are lacking. I believe she had two sisters and one brother. Pieter immigrated to Canada with his six children in 1948.
