Mary Emily Oatey was the eldest daughter of
John Oatey and Susan (nee Michell)
who left Phillack, Cornwall, and arrived in South Australia in January 1849 on board the
WILLIAM MONEY. We have researched
this family back to the early 1600s.

In 1863 Mary Emily Oatey married
James Robert Mullett at Kadina.
He was the second son of William Mullett
of London, who travelled with his family
to South Australia on board
the THOMAS LOWRY in 1848.

married
Alice Watson Holmes,
  eldest daughter of
John & Letitia Holmes
John Holmes was born in Limavady,
Londonderry, Ireland and
Letitia Jenkinson was born in Fenagh,
Carlow, Ireland
They married in 1858,
in South Melbourne.

Leslie Holmes MULLETT,
the eldest son of Albert and Alice Mullett,
was born in 1892. He joined the Army
(2nd Lieut. 14th Battalion) in 1916
and was "killed in action"
on April 11,1917 in France.

to Lily Rosabella BOWDEN BALL (24)
Mary Ann YOUNG (b.1807 d. c1840)
married Jacob CLEAL (1809-1898)
on September 21,1829 in London.

Their youngest daughter
Rosabella Cleal
was born on December 6th, 1831
and christened on March 18,1832
at St. Anne's, Soho, London.
Following Mary's death Jacob migrated
to Canada with his children
and his brother Daniel.

Rosabella Cleal married
William Barrett (born c.1822)
on July 1st,1848 in Hamilton, Canada.
They moved from Canada to New York
where they boarded the ship "Reinhard"
in November 1857 and arrived
in Melbourne, Australia
in March 1858.

Their daughter
Jane Paterson Barrett (1867-1931)
married William John BEART
on Feb 28, 1886.
He died a year later leaving her
with an infant son
William John Jnr (1887-1928).

Jane Patterson(widow) married in 1891 to Frederick William Bowden Ball
(actually baptised as Frederick William Ball)

Their only child
Lily Rosabel BOWDEN BALL, was born
in 1892 at Albert Park (V.9360)
