This Hudson Valley Family was found at 5419 Dierdorf (11 km. s.w. of Höchstensbach; Church books beg. 1676, Reformed).

Franciscus Hömmerich, a widower, Md. 23Aug1713 to Anna Dorothea Clauer at Dierdorf. There were earlier Hömmerichs in the registers there, such as a Michael Hömmerich in 1677. Anna Dorothea was the d/o the Georgius Claure who d.13Dec1697 at Dierdorf; Anna Maria, wid/o Georg Clauer d.28Apr1716 and her dau., Anna Dorothea, d.29Apr1716 (wife Frantz Hömmerich) and they were buried together,

Franciscus Hömmerich then md. Christina Elisabeth Herps, of Dierdorf, on 28Aug1716. Frans Hemerig and his wife Christina Elisabeth Herps of Dierdorf joined the N.Y. City Reformed Church 31May1727.

Franciscus (Frantz) Hömmerich and his 2nd wife Anna Dorothea had the following child:

  1. Johann Jacob, b.2Sep1714, spon. Joh. Jacobus Braun and wife of Andreas Jost (Dierdorf Reformed Church records)
  2. By his third wife, Christina Elisabeth (nee Herps), the following children:

  3. Christina Elisabetha, bpt. 31Oct1717, spon: Maria Elisabetha Ehrenstein (of Freyrachdorf) and Christina Elisabetha. (Dierdorf Reformed Church records)
  4. Johann Matthias, b.29Jun1720, Spon: Christophel Jost, Mathias Digeon and the dau. of Henrich Wilhelm Richß. (Dierdorf Reformed Church records)

Johann Matthias Emmerich md. 6May1743 to Maria Schmidt (Loonenburg Lutheran Church book.); she was the dau of the 1709er Georg Adam Schmidt (see The Palatines Families of N.Y., vol. II, pg. 865-869). The 1747 will of Jurje (Georg) Adam Smit mentions dau. Maria, wife of Mathys Emmerigh. (Fernow Wills, #1509)

Johann Matthias Emmerick and Maria had children baptized at Claverack Reformed, Germantown Reformed and Loonenburg Lutheran Churches.
