branch descends from Roger Dodycote m. 1578 of
Sheriffhales, one of two Rogers mentioned in the 1524 Worcester Will (see
below). · A second Dedicott branch from the 1572
record of Walter Dedicott of Ludlow. · A third Dorricott
line descends from the 1629 record of Michaelis Dadicot of Alberbury. In
Worcestershire (WOR) and London (LND), a branch of Dedicoat/Derriscott
descends from draper Humfrey Dedycote
of Worcester who died in 1524. In Devon
(DEV) there are two branches of Darracott/Dorricott: · One from Marke Dodocott 1540 and William
Dodocote 1551 of Northam. · The second from John Dodecote of Barnstable and
Swimbridge and Richard Dodecot who were baptizing
children between 1558 and 1584 In the
USA, there are branches: · From Charles Darricote, a cousin of my
great x 3 grandfather, who married Mary Ashley and migrated to Liberty, Idaho
in 1868 on the “Monarch of the Sea.” · From Mary Kane, a
cousin of my great uncle migrated to Philadelphia · In Mississippi, there
is a Darracott branch. In
Canada, a branch descends from my great uncle, Edward Derricott
who migrated to Toronto in c.1920. In
Australia, there are three branches: · A Dearricott
line descends from William Henry Darracott, born in Northam,
Devon and who migrated to Victoria in 1845 on the “Alliance.”
· A Derricott line descends from
William Derricott, a brother of my
great grandfather; Bill married Jane Weston and migrated to New South Wales
in 1902. · A Cotton branch
descends from my great aunt, Ada Derricott, who married James
Cotton and migrated to New South Wales in 1920 on the “Orsover.” In
Japan, there are Derricott descendants of Edward
(see Canada, above). |
