  daughter of JOHN III and SARAH SCARBOROUGH KEEN.

   Jesse Brown Sr.  Purchased at auction on 19th  March 1857, 202.5 acres known
   as lot # 162 in the 19th  district (250.00 cash in hand paid), in Pulaski
   Co., Ga.

   Most of the above was about a fight or riot that occurred in Hawkinsville,
   Georgia, they were all fined 5.00 each for fighting in public and 
   vagrancy. This happened during the October term of superior court 1858.

1860 - October
  From deed book M Page 775 Pulaski Co., Georgia 
  Jacob M. Brown gave to children;  John Caden, Needham Wm., and Rebecca T. 
  Brown, Ten head of cattle consisting of 4 cows and calves, two yearlings, 
  thirteen head of hogs consisting of one sow, six pigs, and six shoats.
  Oct 23, 1860. This was probably due to the out break of the northern
  aggression of war.

1862 - April 26. 
  Jesse Brown Jr enlisted into the 14th Battalion, Co.B, "Anderson Battery" 
  Georgia Light Artillery, along with two brothers, Calvin R. and George W. 
  all from Hawkinsville, Ga. 
  Jesse Deserted Feb. 3, 1864 at Griswoldville, Ga.

1866-
  Calvin R. Brown, son of Jesse B. Brown Sr. reportedly killed Ben Myers
  according to report below;
    Name of Person Murdered: BEN MYERS (colored). Place: Pulaski County. 
   *Name of Murderer: CALVIN BROWN (white). Date of Killing: May 1866. 
    Remarks: Not arrested. (From: Freedmen's Bureau Report, Georgia, Miss.        
    State University.)

  After the Civil War there  were many reported murders of freed   
  blacks....

  Calvin Brown, Grand Jury issued a true bill for manslaughter, superior
  court min. vol. E-F  page 134  yrs. 1860-1876 

 1870-
  Census for Pulaski Co., Ga. shows Jacob and Mary Jane (Keen) Brown and

  20Jun1875 GGF Jacob Moore Brown dies in Pulaski Co., Ga.. Due to heat and 
  suffocation while hand digging a water well. Jacob was born in 1832 in 
  Wilkinson Co., Ga. exact date unknown.
 
  16Dec1875 - GGM Mary Jane (Keen) Brown (Jacob's Widow) m - John Jordan in
  Pulaski Co., Ga.
