Ralph Bernard Strong
Born: 18 May 1857, Ohio
Died: 20 Apr 1929 Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma
1880 Census: Collin County, Texas
1900 Census: Hopkins County, Texas
1910 Census: Roosevelt County, New Mexico Territory
Married (1) Mary Ella HALL on 4 May 1878 in Hunt County, Texas
She was the daughter of Mashack HALL and Eliza Jane NEIL.
Mary Ella HALL died 27 Sept 1905 in Comanche Co, Oklahoma
Issue: Augustus, Walter, Lee, Burt, Claude, Rolla, Earl, Earnest and Harry
The marriage license for R.B. STRONG and Ella HALL, was issued on 4 October 1877, they were married on 4 May 1878 in Hunt County, Texas, and the license was filed on 21 May 1878.
There were several other Strong bride and grooms listed in the transcription of Hunt County Marriages. R.B. Strong's marriage was the earliest however. The relationship of these other Strong's to Ralph, if any, is unknown at this time. I was unable to find any Strong's in Hunt County in the 1880 Texas Census Index, on the 1880 United States Census and National Index by Familysearch, or in manually reading the microfilm for Hunt County for 1880.
A Wm. F. Strong was married a few years after Ralph, to Mary Eugenia Mathews on 12 Oct 1881 (D 70). He married second to Thalie/a Tatum on 17 Mar 1886 (E 128). Later, Mrs. Thalie/a Strong was married to Albert Davidson on 5 Mar 1891 (G 203). The burial records of Wm. F. and his first wife follow. From Vol III (page 72) of "Cemetery Inscriptions of Hunt County," Robert Lee Thompson editor, published in 1979.

Strong, Minnie born died 3-06-1884 (daughter)
Strong, Ida 8-2-1882 11-25-1883 (daughter)
Wm. Relationship to Ralph, if any, is unknown.
Ralph Bernard Strong married (2) Mary J. STOCKBRIDGE on 3 Mar 1907 in Greer Co, Oklahoma. They had no issue.
Ralph Bernard STRONG was born in 1857 in Ohio. If his family were still in Ohio at the time of the 1860 census, he would have been listed as between 2 and 4 years of age. As noted below, there are two potential candidates in this age range on the 1860 Ohio census. The first was a son of SAMUEL STRONG of LAKE COUNTY, OHIO (born circa 1832 in Ohio). The second was a son of DAVID STRONG of TRUMBALL COUNTY, OHIO (born circa 1819 in New York).
In May and June 2000, Charles Strong extracted census information about EVERY Strong family that was listed in the 1860 Ohio Census Index (by Lida Flint Harshman).
Of the 100 plus Strong's families listed in the index, Charles was able to locate virtually all of them. There were only four he was unable to locate on the census microfilms, probably due to errors in the index. It is conceivable that one of these "missing" families may also have had a 3 to 4 year old son named Ralph. Additionally, there could be Strong families not indexed, missed by the enumerator, or whom had already moved away from Ohio after the birth of their son Ralph.

According to the 1870 census index, there were three Samuel Strong's listed as Head of Households in 1870, none of them in Lake County. One of the Samuel's was age 73 (too old), one was age 24 (too young) and one was age 37. The information on that Samuel follows, but I do not believe this is the same family:

I could not locate the Lake County, Ohio Samuel Strong family in the 1870 or 1880 Texas census index either.
