BORDER REIVER FAMILIES DNA STUDY
(Results collected from project testing at FTDNA and various Y-DNA and mtDNA Result sources cited below:)

The Border Reivers DNA Project grew out of an initial study of occurances of DYS393=12 within various Anglo-Scottish Border Clans and their descendents as spread around the world through migration.   The whole subject of DNA studies for Genealogical Research has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years.   There are numerous Y-DNA projects involving Border Familes.  However, it was and is apparent that certain families of interest have not started independent DNA studies.   We determined to initiate this "Border Reivers" DNA Study in order to give interested participants a place to engage in DNA study in cooperation with other interested researchers.   Our intention is to be inclusive, rather than exclusive.   We are willing to work in cooperation with other existing DNA projects, all with a view to enhancing a meaningful exchange of useful DNA and genealogical information, and furthering the accessibility of such information.   This project has grown significantly in size, thus necessitating development of various result pages as found below.    Interested researchers are invited to visit these pages, to join the project if they wish, and to share their results with others in the manner presented in this project.
