Barbara is researching Deane/Dean lines in the Oneida, NY area
I'm just starting research on our Dean line that  married into the Kenyon family in Oneida, NY in the early 1800s.  I have just
started on this line, but we believe there might be Mohawk heritage in the  line and I'm trying to prove this.  I have found a will with a nephew with
the surname "Deane" list on the Joseph Bryant, Mohawk cheif on the Olive Tree site.

Also have Albanus Dean (b.1875-d.1905) who in 1898 on Hoopers Island m.   my great grand aunt Josephine (Phoenie) Simmons.  Would love to figure out how he ties in with my earlier Deans.

Kay Bradley

----------------------------  Kay is researching Deans from Georgia to Texas also. Henry G. Dean married Rhoda Narcissa Montgomery Brown in 1842 (she was widowed by her first husband, Alfred B. Brown) they had three sons: John, who moved to AL after the Civil War Hugh and William Henry who moved to Texarkana TX after the civil war with their mother Rhoda N. DEAN  Possibly, my Deans lived in the Stone Mountain area of GA in 1850...maybe
even earlier in 1830. I see from some of your notes that Deans lived in Wilkes County GA in the late 1780's.
Rhoda's father was Col. James McConnell Montgomery who was most likely the first white man to settle in the Atlanta area ..about 1814. I do not have a name for Henry G's father so my search is difficult.

My Deans are my father, Woodrow Wilson Dean and his sister Nell Dean Hall.  I know almost nothing about him or his side of the family.  I have a birthdate for him that came off the application for marriage to my mother, Jane Miller Dean.  His birthdate is listed as December 11, 1917, but contains no other information.  My mother cannot remember where he was born and said his parents were dead by the time she met him in 1938.  Have you or anyone else come accross him in your search?  Thank you.

I am looking for a Francis Deane, born approx. about 1770-1800. wife's name was Margaret (from Delaware County NY). lived in Hector, Tompkins County, New York. Died after 1843 - before 1850. On 1880 census their son Thomas Dean lists his father from Connecticut. Francis served in the War of 1812. I only have his soldier #, and what he was paid. 1865 census list Margaret as 63 yrs. old married 1, and now a widow, and having 14 children. I only know of 7 children. hopefully something sounds familiar, as i am have trouble connecting him to any of the Dean/e's out there. willing to share info if we connect.
